Exactly. Not a fight I'm going to watch, but I don't think it was an evil plan from the beginning by Alvarez. Circumstances changed and he went from interesting opponents to bull****.

Hopefully something legit will occur in the winter.

Whatever... Cotto fought him unranked as well and he was supposed to be a more proven champ then the so called protected golden child. Where was the hate back then when Cotto fought him and still gave him a good fight where cotto was fighting a safety first fight.

It's all good ESB wants everything now, it's only logical we fans want the world now, all good fights tomorrow... but dude is 21 and they are gonna move him a long slowly, because they see a lot of money in him, its just business.

Now if its on CBS it would be historic as a top talent like Canelo headlining a free show on Free TV would take us back to the old days when they would do that ****, and many more fans for Canelo when he gets into PPV... but its all skepticism right now, who knows what happens... wether canelo faces Mayweather cotto Mayorga IDC i'll still be a fan, canelo is being held back by GBP for money and if they wanna do that whatever im not gonna cry a river there are many other fights going on in the whole weight divisions that not having Lara/cotto/Mayweather- Canelo now a 21 year old kid, I don't care. It's gonna happen anyways...sooner or later.

By alvarez? LMAO Alvarez has an opinion and his is that he would want to face Cotto/Mayweather next, but GBP want to move him a long nicely... and GBP as their manager will pursued what is best for alvarez in the long run.

Mayorga will make for a fun event but will be brutally KOED. I have limited interest in this fight.

How sweet would a "Boxing" Tanya Harding be right about now!
(Mayorga will play the Kerrigan role)

that was a "comeback" fight for a guy that was coming off of losses and was seen as washed up himself.

Canelo just faught Mosley, he proved he can beat an old HOF, he should be stepping up in this fight especially on a mexican holiday. i dont fully blame him because alot of **** has happened, but they could have chosen someone younger.

I agree with Bama on this one. This fight is a ****ing disgrace and anybody supporting this **** in anyway should be ashamed.

BS! it was a 154 title fight, mayorga got a title shot. Look it up. His comeback fight was a title shot at 154 against an easy foreman.

I don't want the fight either I would love to see any type of unification or top ranked 154 fighter but the Press conferances and the antics by mayorga leading up to his highlight reel KO would be decent if it was free...

I me1an if Cotto fought him a Year ago, whats wrong with a 21 year old kid doing it. Cotto was by far the more proven guy and champ not needing an unranked fighter like that in his resume, yet he did it... and got not much hate. So what the **** who cares if it happens, canelo is fighting like 3 times a year.

I'm not going to give Canelo as much crap for this one as others. Business wise, since GBP is intent on making this a PPV, Mayorga is pretty much the only one left. It's all on GBP for wanting this to be a PPV desperately, but short of Oscar coming back and facing Canelo, it's not going to outsell Chavez vs Martinez.

Not yet confirmed its a possibility.

Either Showtime Boxing, big Historic comeback to free TV for big boxing event, or yes PPV...

Can't wait to see what happens. This **** has been a roller coaster.

I think he has a Glass Jaw. There is no other reason I can think of to coddle a fighter with the obvious skill and physical ability that he has.
