Mayorga Signing Contract to Fight Canelo 9/15

They'd make more money by putting him in with real opponents. He has a massive fanbase and could already headline a PPV if he was fighting anybody but a shot veteran or a never-was joke like Cintron. I think his Chin is Pure Glass, but I hope I am wrong because he is a good fighter and fun to watch. Unfortunately, I am nearly always right on Prospective Glass Jaws.

 

Hope this is true. People should chill out. Canelo is going to be 22 years old. He's still very young. he's going to be around for a while, so he will have the opportunity to fight K-9, Trout, Cotto, etc. If this is on CBS, a Mayorga fight will promise more action and intrigue than a fight with either Bundrage, Lara, and Trout would. I don't even think he's going to fight Mayorga to be honest with you.

 

Glass? :nut They were trying PPV with Williams, Kirkland, Ortiz... but **** happens. Now its scramble time. I agree GBP is ****ing up... they could easily put Cotto/Mayweather next... but they are keen on moving him up slowly and let the dollar bills roll in then cashing him out in big events and having him peak to soon...or ruining him which I doubt, but GBP not taking a chance.

 

Here we go again, Mayorga predictably puts in a few good rounds, then get's the crap beat out of him.

 

This will be fun! Mayorga comes to fight. We will finally get to see the fire and temper of Canelo! Dude is a beast!

k-9, trout, lara, vanes, even mundine **** . anyone but mayorga . an canelo just fought mosley, why is he getting brought a long like this? i kno he is only 22 but stil fight some one young like u. they really dont wanna put him in there with a young buck . which is really dissapointing . us fans wanna see a scrap .

Cotto said he wouldnt take the fight because he alrdy had plans for july with his family. Mayweather isnt gonna fight this year. Well maybe in December but they want to keep Canelo active. Hes used to fighting 3-4 times a year and waiting for Mayweather till Dec. wouldnt be smart.

I like the Mayorga fight. GBP tried to secure a PPV fight and it didnt work out. Mayorga provides far more entertainment than Trout and ive hardly even seen Bundrage fight. Im excited for this one!

 

I dont care much for Vanes but they are worried about Lara. He's a spoiler and sometimes not so entertaining. GBP had to save this event because of the ppv miss-hap. Mayorga gets the job done. Especially if this goes up against Chavez Martinez. Mayorga can sell a fight, hes well known and is always entertaining in his fights. Mayorga will push Canelo, make him angry and test him. Its gonna be fireworks!

 

Let's just hope it doesn't happen. Will be a very one sided garbage fight. Press conf will be fun tho

 

Because all the legit fighters he was lined up to fight either got injured,or managaed to lose.

 

Not a fight I want to see. But at the very least, aside from the trash-talk, Mayorga offers up those wild bursts of awkward aggression that has troubled great fighters and could shake a relatively young one.

I'd favor Canelo considerably, but if Mayorga comes in shape similar to the Cotto fight, he could be game.

 

I get the argument that he is 22. That is fine.

However, he has a belt. That means you fight the best. You don't get to say he's still too young.
