Hector was too good a boxer to let someone as wild as Mayorga beat him. It might be tough for a little while, but Hector would win a decision.

At any stage of the careers of these guys, Camacho would have been a class above...maybe two classes above Mayorga.

Without a doubt, the most inappropriate nickname for Mayorga that can be imagined.

mayorga's legacy is built almost solely on the two forrest wins. forrest, like camacho, is a FAR FAR better fighter than mayorga. i'm still inclined to chock those up to flukes. mayorga was never much and camacho should beat him by wide decision almost every single time

I don't think it was a fluke, it was a style matchup problem. There are many of these in boxing. Hearns vs. Barkley was another one. One style where a worse fighter has a certain key to a better fighters style. Somehow the rhythm and everything falls into place for the lesser fighter. Mayorga had that with Forrest same with Barkley for Hearns and I think JMM for Pacman.
