Margarito has a better chin, he also throwd the sharper punches, Mayorga comes in with wild punches to overpower oponents, Margo is similar but he reptiore of punches is more diverse.

Itd be exciting but I dont see a KO, maybe Margo can get him late, but overral i think the cleaner more precise blows wins the fight for Margarito. Shame Mayorga is not a welterweight name anymore.

Prime for prime I take Margo by a late TKO after a good fight. Margo's chin could stand up to a lot of what Mayorga could throw at him, plus I think Margo has more skill and boxing ability. Right now, Margo by midround KO after a beating.

margarito is a come forward pressure fighter with leaky defense. he has no advantages whatsoever in a gunfight with a guy who hits harder, has faster hands, good timing, has a high workrate (at least in the first 5 rounds).

It would be a huge mismatch. Margarito by vicious knockout!

Prime Mayorga would stop Margarito late. They both have **** defense, but Mayorga would be able to walk through Margarito's punches like they're nothing and Margarito wouldn't be able to do the same against him. That sums it up basically.

Mayorga's chin is better and his power is much, much better. Also, even though Mayorga is wilder with his punches, he's slightly more accurate than Margarito and both his handspeed/footspeed is much better. People are way overrating Margarito once again.. this is almost a mismatch the other way around.

The current Mayorga gets stopped though, but it's only because he would probably be a C+ level fighter at 147.

There is a reason why Mayorga was fighting the cory spinks of the world and for the real championship and making a name for himself rather then Margarito. Its b/c he was better. Plain and simple.

Mayorga vs Margarito might have come off if it wasn't for the BS decision Spinks got over Mayorga. That clumsy punch and grab was in full effect that night and Don was using Mayorga as a patsy for Cory to unify. Mayorga himself stated that he would fight Margarito as he considered Margo the "second best champion" (this happened after the second Forrest fight). He thought nothing of Spinks.

Also remember Margarito isn't in the DK stable. You do realize that Don King is going to run his stable first before going outside of that right? Not that I fault DK but it is what it is.
