And that he gave those free shots to Tito.

IMO, this was a winnable fight for Mayorga.

Exactly, plus the 2 year layoff for Tito, this was a very winnable figth for Mayorga on paper if he would carry his power, but from 47 to 60 it's to big of a difference,he got tired early cuz of the lack of the training,Roy Jones spotted this immediately when commentated, from the first round.Mayorga would have won if he would have gotten 2-3 months of training

This has to be one of the most stupid comments I have seen here!!!!:dead
Lets get the facts. Tito was ordered to re-wrap in ONE fight. Hand wraps are checked EVERY fight. The said he had too much tape and foam. I will call LOADED someone with some kind of metal. And check the weights for each of those fights. Tito's frame is not to be fighting any guy heavier than 154lbs. :patsch

I'm pretty sure it was Roy Jones who said all Tito needs to do is goto the body and as soon as he did, Mayorga went down.

Roy was also the first one that saw Mayorga was tired in the first round do to lack of training.''He's dead tired Jim,he's dead tired,he going down soon''

He's never truly spoke about his actual power, but he did allude to having sore ribs after the fight. Pretty normal stuff.

I agree. Barerra-Morales 3 is the worst foty winner in years and Pacquiao-Marquez did not have enough consistent action.

Anyone trying to say that Trinidad didn't have killer power and using the Mayorga fight as proof doesn't know what they're talking about. Unless they just blinked and missed the spot where a single Tito left hook moved Mayorga two steps back and to his left. Or how Mayorga was suddenly dancing backwards at the bell of the first round after Tito spent about 30 seconds clocking Mayorga with straight rights and left hooks. Or the way Mayorga started shaking his head to clear it as soon as he sat down between rounds.

Tito's effectiveness lessened over the years as he went up against bigger and bigger guys, but to think that in every single fight prior to the Hopkins fight both the observors from his opponents corner and the neutral folks from the boxing comissions and what not somehow missed Trinidad's hands being improperly wrapped... every single time... is pretty dumb.

I guess they'd have to say that Mike Tyson is another guy who can't hit and owes it all to how his hands were wrapped, since Spinks' corner was complaining about that before the fight...

Yeah, a great fight no doubt. I haven't seen that fight in a long time unfortunately. :-(
