By Pablo Fletes Former world champion Ricardo Mayorga (29-8-1, 23 KOs) told Radio 580 that next week he will travel to Miami, Florida, to sign the contract for his upcoming fight with Don King Promotions. Mayorga, who hasn't fought since March of last year when he was knocked out by Miguel Cotto, told the show that he wants to face Chavez Jr. Mayorga must be walking around heavy because he wants to face Chavez Jr. at a catchweight of 165 pounds, which rules out the possibility of making it a title fight. Mayorga fought as high as 164, when he decisioned Fernando Vargas in 2007.
And I saw Winky vs. Quillin in play for Mayweather-Cotto on the scene, too. But I'll let someone else take care of that.
How ****ing fat is he now? Yeah he fought vargas up there but that was because vargas was a fat ass not him. His frame isnt that big, I dont see how he cant make 160 if he could be bothered to get in shape for the fight. I think it shows he is just there to get a pay check and get KTFO. That isnt a good attitude though, taking more shots than you need to at the end of your career as history has shown.
winky needs to stay retired, he looked like **** against williams, his timing was way off and he couldnt land anything and williams aint mr elusive.
He went to middleweight and fought Trinidad in his first fight there, coming up from welterweight to do it as well. So yeah, Mayorga is insane. Won't be surprised to see Chavez Jr. accept this type of fight.
