There's alot of rumbling about Shane Mosley being a shot fighter after last night. At the same time, people are giving credit (and rightly so) to Mayorga for his performance but let's get real...Mayorga is a shopworn fighter and last night certainly didn't help matters. The punches he took last night were clean and hard and the KO punch was flush. How does that work in Mayorga's favor? Each fight takes a little more out of you and a knockout doesn't help matters. I've actually gotten to like Mayorga over the years but he's done. He's been done. Had he survived the 12th round then maybe there should be talk of another fight on the horizon because of a good performance but he didn't. He got starched. When you think of the punches he ate against Trinidad, De La Hoya, and now Mosley, when does his safety (whether you like him or not) become an issue? I can see Don King milking him for another fight or 2 but I don't think it's in his best interest. Even being a gatekeeper can be a risky proposition at this point.

Mayorga will continue to be what he has been, an opponent for aging world class fighters, and probably eventually for prospects looking to make a name for themselves.

I'm not sure Mayorga will ever get any more big fights....think he should take his money and retire.

Retire, the man has taken too much damage lately, this is yet another brutal KO he suffers. He should just call it before he dies in there.

Well he's only been beaten by the best fighters out there if he wants to keep fighting he could still win a portion of a world title belt, of course he'll never be a p4p kind of guy, but he can still pull some upsets.

When you are an 8 or 9 to 1 underdog and aren't dispatched until the final second...and were ahead on one of the cards against a future hall of famer, some respect should be shown.

How long is he signed to King for...???...anybody...???

Yeah give him credit for hanging in there giving Shane some problems and trying to win. If Mayorga wants to fight he should be allowed to fight its not like hes getting trashed by bums. I would like to see him more active instead of just fighting once a year vs a big name.

I think Mayorga was in great shape for this fight and proved he is more than a hand full for most at his weight. I think he should he fight on I would not be suprised if we see Mosley 2 when Shane looks at the tape of the fight. Forest 3 Maybe? as someone said a Moria fight could happen( I would like to see this).

I think he fights on he is going to be really pissed geting koed with a second to go.

Ricardo should retire,he has proved his heart and determination and that he is/was a good figher even without skills. This fight probably looked as it should have looked like when it was talked the first time in 2003,2004
