Mayweather 130-147 beats out Duran anywhere

It's both true and sad. I really enjoy watching some of those old Duran fights, Duran - De Jesus III, Duran - Moore, Duran - Barkley, Duran -SRL those are classic fights. As one poster said, he may be the best fighter ever to seamlessly transition from defense to offense or vice versa. The guys a marvel to watch.

He use to be a boxer, than he became a singer. Try goggling Duran Duran and you'll see what I mean.

 

The only duran mayweathers beating out is a song from they homos frm the 80s.

 

Dejesus 3 was one of the all-time great defensive performances IMO. Duran was doing it against an excellent fighter in Dejesus. Duran was being offensive in a very methodical and patient way. Controlled aggression and he was slipping so many of Dejesus's punches. Land a jab or a straight, duck the counter, and immediately counter back with a hook to the head or a body shot.

That said, I think people often get carried away with hypothetical matchups. "Oh Duran destroys Mayweather, so and so gets killed by so and so". It's the exception rather than the norm for elite world class fighters to face off and one guy really dominates the other.

Mayweather is a very smart, skilled, and resourceful fighter. He has not only physical gifts, he also has the "boxing know-how" that a lot of today's fighters lack. People say there's a lack of teaching in the more recent generation of fighters. I agree, but it sure didn't apply to Floyd.

Mayweather would certainly be competitive although I will not pick him, except at 130, where Duran was green and Floyd established himself as one of the greatest ever in that division's history.

It happens when you continually fight the best. especially at MW. Even SRR got ko'd now and then.

You obviously know little about the sport, so perhaps you should just got to the channel "I loves me some Floyd" and watch Floyd 24/7 while munching on potato chips and twinkies.

I watched Robinson fight on Friday night fights, fought amateur for four years and sparred against a bronze medal winner. Don't be so quick to disparage someone simply because they hold a different point of view than you.

I have tremendous admiration for Mayweather, and his sublime skills. However anyone who believes he would ever, ever grow the cajones to get in the ring with any version of Duran from his 135 title win up to the Montreal fight with Leonard simply doesn't inhabit planet Earth.

That Duran seriously injures PBF, and in fairness to him, he is intelligent enough to realise that. If anyone thinks he ducked Pac, have no doubt about it, his whole family would **** themselves at the thought of him fighting that version of Duran.

I just stated a fact, how you took it is your problem. I rate Duran as a top 15 atg fighter and enjoyed watching him fight. The problem with posters like you is that, for some reason, you have a hate or love for a particular fighter and feel that if someone else doesn't see things the same way that you do then they should be verbally attacked. I have a hard time respecting posters like yourself. I come on here to talk boxing and not insult people but people like you make it hard for me to stay civil.

you stated absolutely nothing about technique or detail. so stop deluding yourself. You highlighted a KO2 vs a HOF MW as a reason why, of all people, Mayweather would win.

Like I said, Duran fought in a Golden Age and kicked a lot of ass, but also lost. Which is what happens when you CONTINUALLY fight the best. :deal
