Rightfully so? I don't agree? To boo a team for not having the passion and not putting in 100% then I completely agree, they should be chased off the pitch. To boo individuals for having poor games and distroying their confidence at the same time is abhorrent.

Remember how Becks was treated after the 98 World cup? Absolutely sickening!

I ****ing hate England fans generally anyway.

And FRK (whatever his name is, sorry mate) is right. Pretty much everyone I know is anti-monarchy and anti-nationalistic and will boo our national anthem. In fact, we did so at the fight and everytime the wankers started singing God Save the Queen during the fight made us cringe horribly.

Scotland will boo OUR OWN national anthem, Wales will boo it, half of Northerm Ireland will boo it intensely, many people from northern England (especially those from Manchester and Liverpool - generally proud, independant, socialist cities) will boo it, many from Devon and Cornwall will boo it, which just leaves Londoners and those in the South East who are generally pro-monarchy anyway.

It's just a shame that Ricky's fans will sing it, without thought, using it as a statement.

look, boxing is a sporting event. people don't come out to a sporting event to be respectful and considerate, they come out to be emotional and have a good time.

it's just ****ing rivalry, alright? so get over it, that song doesn't mean **** to the british, and why should it?

    it's just a ****ing song

maybe it's disrespectful... but why should they care? they payed a **** ton of money to goto a live sporting event to be entertained and have a good time,

this rival country aspect was played up by the promotion of the event, ON PURPOSE

by booing the national anthem, they were playing along with the entire theme of the event, they were allowing themselves to become immersed in the mood and tone,

they were not making a political statement, or stating their regard for the united states

So get the **** over it, for christ's sake

    Good points Hotti and MagDave.

Please, Americans, give it a rest now, you are really making yourselves look a bit pathetic with this now.

I have seen as many Yanks say that they couldn't give a donkeys dick and that the ones that were crying about it were just using it as something to get het up about. Give it a break now, eh? Grow up a bit and toughen up a bit.

Actually judging from the reactions here, people took it very seriously, especially the British fans.

This is all about cultural ignorance.
Its fairly acceptable too boo national anthems in Britain, its considered part of the whole event. To do it in someone elses country makes me cringe a bit with embarrasment however. If your a guest in that country you should treat your hosts with a bit more respect. The brits in Las Vegas clearly couldn't give towo ****s for any american indignation.
I am surprised that this has overshadowed Hopkins "Minteresque" comments towards Calzaghe however, that in my mind was totally unacceptable and far worse than the booing of a national anthem.
Does that happen a lot in american sports (I'm realizing I sound quite naive here.:D )
As for americans booing God Save the Queen.......Well that would be a deeply surreal moment. I cant imagine americans acting like a bunch of drunk footie fans!

This is a sad attitude. You think youre the equal of every other man on earth? Have you met every other man on earth? All men are equal to each other because we all exist and are part of a generic species? This is awful.

AMERICAN BOXER Floyd Mayweather post fight

"I love British fight fans," he said. "The guys are die-hard fans. Even when Ricky Hatton gets his (rear) beat, you're still going to love him. I wish we had fans like that."

Mayweather felt sorry for him. He also said Hatton was the hardest guy he ever fought. Which is rubbish too.

The majority of the reactions were from white Americans.

You are a deeply unpleasant person and unless you are sporting some kind of decrepit irony, you don't in anyway deserve to be using that name as your username.
