Everyone keeps saying mayweather will come in too heavy, is too big for Marquez and everything... However in every single fight he's had he's either come into the RING at the agreed upon weight or UNDER it. just curious if anyone else thinks that weight will probably not be as big of a deal on fight night as everyone seems to think?
147 will not be any different than if the weigh-in was 144. Floyd will weigh the same regardless, which I think will be around 147 or 148 for the fight. Marquez and Floyd won't have more than a 3 pound difference between them.
After Floyd wins the weight will be the reason that the fight dont mean ****, according to those that dont like the guy.
I understand that but he walks around heavier. I'm asking if you think it will be as big of a disadvantage as people think. Especially considering pac did it extremely easily?
Yep, there's always an excuse. Remember how he picked on Hatton, picked on a "smaller man"? WTH, Hatton weighed more than Floyd after the weigh-in. This size excuse is what everyone wants to use for a possible Pacquiao fight too, and I seriously doubt there would be any difference in their weights. The excuse is just another way of some people saying they are not too confident Pacquiao can beat him! :rasta
Other than opinion can you provide some facts. cuz boxrec has him weighng in at or below the agreed upon weight in every fight, as well as from watching the fights this is what i gathered.
Juan Manuel Marquez spent 95% of his career at 126 or below. He only has 2 fights above 126 and no fights above 135. Mayweather hasn't fought at 130 since 2001. It is a legitimate argument to say this will affect the outcome of the bout. If you believe that Mayweather was a strong favorite to begin with of course the weight is no factor because in your mind Mayweather isn't losing to JMM under any circumstance. However, we aren't talking about mythical matchups anymore, this is now a real matchup and the physical stature of these fighters matters. People seem to forget that fighters like Manny, PBF, Roy Jones, Hopkins etc... they are the exceptions not the rule when it comes to jumping up in weight and having success.
Not facts then? Are you talking about his weight weighing in for the fight or his weight in the ring? You said "However in every single fight he's had he's either come into the RING at the agreed upon weight or UNDER it."
