It is not a matter of how heavy Floyd will be on fight night. atsch It is much of JMM's weight. The guy is at the most probably a jr welter. I'm more curious how JMM will be fighting at 147. How he'll handle the extra weight.
coming into the ring. i remember his weight in the ring when he faught dlh he came in at 148. and he's stepped into the ring every fight i can remember at the same weight he weighed in at or lighter
I still see Floyd as a natural 140 pounder, and after watching Marquez obliterate Casa and wear down Diaz, I'm convinced that these two guys are pretty evenly matched size-wise. This is not like JMM fighting Margarito or Williams.
Thats how i see it. Floyd IMO isn't a true welter, i think he can handle the weight fine but is naturally s JW at best
Why should I 'get' something that at this point hasn't been proven? All of my examples where fighters that stepped up and dominated their competition, that is what makes them exceptional. The type of domination that actually makes you question what their best weight really is. Hopkins dominated Tarver, Roy Jones dominated Ruiz, Manny dominated Diaz/Hatton/Oscar, Floyd dominated numerous fighters.... In both his fight against Casa and Diaz he was down or even for most of the fight and pulled out dramatic finishes near the end. JMM didn't dominated either of these fighters and showed while he is an exceptional technician he has his limitations. We are now supposed to ignore all the signs and blind ourselves to the fact that JMM might already have hit his personal physical ceiling because some of his contemporaries are going above and beyond most people's expectations? Weight is a factor in this fight and it remains to be seen whether JMM truly is an exception to the rule.
I agree with a lot of that. Manny made it look easy, doesn't mean JMM will effortly make the transition up to welterweight. Also, I hope there's not much of a weight differential between JMM and Floyd on the night for JMM's sake but it remains to be seen.
fact is the weight is going to make a difference. i will be surprised if marquez is nearly as effective. i think he slowed down a touch at 135. just because pacman moved up and looked good doesn't really mean anything about how marquez will look. ps. lets see pac against cotto or mosley before we start saying he is just as good at WW.
It is stunning to me that people have convinced themselves that JMM (a fighter only 1 year removed from fighting at his career weight of 126) is going up against PBF (a fighter that has never fought below 130 as a professional and is almost 8 years removed from his last fight at 130) and there isn't a distinct weight advantage. That is a perplexing level of delusion. :rasta
floyd mayweather fanboys defend their idol to the bitter end. even when its so obvious that their idol is a chery picking biatch.
