Mayweather already making excuses to duck Lara

I want to see Lara vs Cotto/Canelo. Those will be good fights. The man doesn't have to fight up and comers without a name. You forgot, this is a business. Furthermore, there is nothing about Lara that suggest that he absolutely beats Mayweather. He has a size advantage and he's a southpaw. Lara has shown limitations in the Angulo, Vanes, and Molina fights, at his weight class. What is so great about Lara, that makes you absolutely sure he beats Mayweather?

Just because a fighter like Lara has absolutely no commercial fan base that would only put mayweather in an absolutely dreadful ppv buy rate position; doesnt mean floyd is ducking him.

I totally disaree. Im a Lara fan but I wouldnt even pick him over Canelo right now. Even if it is true, what much is that saying? That a guy at 154 in his 1st division can beat all WW's, alot of them who have moved up in weight? Thats why I say that you dont know ish.

Alot of guys at MW & SMW right now would starch Lara strictly on size alone. That doesnt make them better fighters. Go learn something. Trout was an undefeated fighter when Canleo beat him, and while the fight was competitive, it wasn't really close. Trout landed nothing of note vs Canelo(or Lara). Lara did beat Trout better than Canelo did, and I would love to see him face Mayweather. But, as I am sure you are aware, boxing is a business, and Lara has even fewer fans than Guerrero or Ortiz. This fight doesn't make sense, although as a fan I would love to see them fight next.

So Lara should be able to proclaim himself the greatest because Mayweather won't fight him, because he brings nothing to the table. Maybe fighters should take on all comers and say to hell with the money, right? Forget that there are promoters, managers, networks, trainers, and other handlers that make this whole thing work. Do you think that Showtime would approve a ppv fight, that is guaranteed to lose money? I get it, you hate Mayweather, there are plenty that do, but at least you can revel in the fact that you can always say "This guy would beat Mayweather", when you know there is zero chance of that fight taking place.

 

I'm not comparing Mayweather to Broner in terms of ability, I mentioned them both in terms of proper management and serious promotion. As far as "no marks" are concerned, it's the no marks that purchase the PPVs and jump on bandwagons which ultimately decides who's publicly successful/famous or not.
