    Floyd's possible plan
Increase his punch volume - Floyd Sr, perhaps the goal here to create a fast pace that Alvarez can't keep up with and force him into a shell of "negativity"

Floyd said he has the perfect gameplan. This could mean anything, but I'm betting it involves striking Alvarez body since its clear he got bad stamina.

Jab like a mother****er. Use it for defensive and offensive purposes. Hook off of it and set the up the straight right down the middle with it. - Floyd Sr

    Turn Alvarez - Floyd Sr

    Alvarez possible plan
Believes pressure is the key. Studying the Castillo, DLH, and Cotto fights. Mentioned going to the body since it can help set up shots upstairs. This leads me to believe he'll be strongly based in the Cotto gameplan

Also says he'll stay calm and not rush trying to tear his head off.

Good thread, we should add to it as they talk a bit more. Both are good strategies.

Dont think it takes a boxing Einstein to figure out that Canelo has to backup Mayweather behind his jab, and be active with a healthy shot output of physicality when Mayweather goes to the ropes.

Physicality??? Means to punch anywhere at Mayweather. An opening does'nt have to be there.
Punch at the arms, chest, shoulders. Just punch hard enough it punishes when it lands, where ever it lands.

This does'nt mean to go haywire on Mayweather. Canelo has to be selective and punish Mayweathers limbs selectively.

The thread starter mentioned Mayweather being active to tire Canelo.
I dont see Mayweather's gameplan against Cotto working on Canelo.
Canelo is a bigger, stronger and better junior middleweight.

Mayweather takes the fight to Canelo and Mayweather will get punished.

Finally, Mayweather up against a bonafide live opponent! :bbb

I said be active to create an intense pace Alvarez can't keep up with. Alvarez like Miguel Cotto works very hard to be deliberate. They're screwed when rushed imo. They don't have that spontaneous quality to deal with highly dynamic circumstances.

Floyd's plan A will be the same as always; Survival at any means.

The action of this fight will be dictated by what Canelo does(as is the case in
    most of Floyd's fights).

Canelo better bring gameplans A, B and C and focus primarily on Plan A: Constant and steady pressure by leading with his jab and working the body
and above all remain focused and stave frustration.

The Mayweather's aren't exactly known for being consistent with the "truth"!

    Still bitter?

Its very likely given Floyds insane work ethic that he has to consume a copious amount of calories to keep his weight up. As to why we see him eating junk food during his workouts. His body very likely goes through anything he consumes like butter.

Well said. Floyd drowned Cotto, he can easily drown Canelo who's even less active.

Mayweather being active will create opportunities for Canelo to land a stunning telling blow.

Why do you think defensive guys like Mayweather and Hopkins dont have active workrates against live opponents?
They dont want to get hit thats why.

Mayweather is active against Canelo, I'm guaranteeing you he's going to get hit and hit hard!!!!

I see Mayweather fighting at the pace he did vs DLH.
That pace abled DLH to win rounds by default simply because Mayweather had such low activity levels in to many of the rounds.

The heavy jab Canelo employs will help in keeping Mayweather's activity low.

Canelo is'nt Hatton or Cotto when it comes to defense either.
This man actually swivels his waist and goes into evasive manuevers as well.
So the target is'nt quite going to be there like it was for Mayweather in fights against Hatton, Cotto, and even DLH who's alot more robotic in defensive manuevers that Canelo is.

Canelo can evade shots. Just watch his last fight against Trout.
Because of this, this fight may boil down to activity.

Thats the big question mark for both.
Who's going to get out of their defensive shell in order to just be active and catch the judges eyes during alot of these uneventful rounds???

I say there's a good chance that when Mayweather feels Canelo's strenghth and power, it wont be him that opens up!!!

    See that's where you're wrong.

Mayweather is extremely good at making his opponent fight at his pace.

If having to eat to make welterweight is the case, why cheat Marquez on the scales???

Now ****off and go blow Mayweather in private!

Mayweather had no problem taking punches from Cotto and answering straight back. How wasnt Cotto a live opponent?

    So Canelos going to win?
