So I just read a story in a respected newspaper who are generally to be trusted when they speak in such definite terms, this is what they said...

Calzaghe is "certain to fight again" and is "already in negotiations with Sky Sports" to show his next fight at the Millenium Stadium which is scheduled for Summer '09. The fight will be against either Carl Forch (if Froch wins the WBC title against Pascal in Decemeber) Bernard Hopkins, or Chad Dawson - these are the only names being considered at the moment.

Floyd Mayweather has "hit the gym" in recent weeks and is "itching for a return next year". He will face the winner of Malignaggi vs. Hatton, or De La Hoya vs Pac. If it is Hatton, the fight will likely take place at Wembley Stadium in front of 90,000.

    Thoughts everyone~?

the only reason hatton mayweather would be made again would be for the money, because hatton got a boxing lesson.whats the point in a rematch if the first wasnt even close. i live in england i wouldnt bother wasting my money on that, hatton is washed up!

Typical American POV that is mate.
I would prefer him to fight Carl Forch if Froch gets the WBC belt.

daily express..its a **** newspaper generally...but the sports is ok and when they say things like "certain" then it can be trusted, unlike the sun etc.

None of those above fights would come close to matching the $$$ of facing Hatton in front of 90,000. Or even De La Hoya vs. Mayweather II.

So know floyd needs to fight berto and cintron, you will be happy if floyd comes out of retirement and fights cintron

If he unretires he needs to fight margo and cotto later down the line when he has recovered from the defeat, nothing else, i would ave no problem with him taking a pac fight if he then fought those 2 after

Calzaghe a couple of days ago said that Dawson is unproven and not an option. It seems Jo has realized he is now a LHW and that there really are noone else to fight!

Hopkins and RJJ... who else is there?

So either he has to retire or at least look at Dawson.

I don't believe for a second that Joe said that. It's just bollocks man, you're talking ****, IMO. Even after the Jones fight Calzaghe didn't rule out Dawson, this this article says, Dawson, Hopkins and Froch are the three names under consideration.

The only reason most top fights are made is money.
Mayweather vs Hatton would be a good fight, probablly the same result though, I'd certainly watch. Two good fighters, competitve, why the hell not?

Margo would give Mayweather as much trouble as Hatton, which isn't a lot.
