I think we all agree that Cotto is a far better boxer than Martinez. But in that fight, he would be on the losing end of almost all of the physical advantages you could have in a match.

Stamina (Diaz might help w/ this), strength, speed, resiliency to damage. This is not a knock against him. Cotto would do well in the beginning, but along the way Martinez would hit him with something that would put him in straight retreat mode.

In the past, everyone calling Sergio's fights has pointed out that while he's a good athlete, he doesn't have huge punching power--he's just an extremely smart fighter and knows how to place his punches better than anyone currently in the game and can always turn the fight in his favor.
