Listen, if Cotto was prime and Martinez's size, I would actually give Cotto the nod due to his boxing skill, but he's not.

Cotto is shorter than Mayweather with a shorter reach. Every disadvantage Mayweather would have against Martinez, it would be multiplied with Cotto. Not a knock against him, cause I love Cotto, just fact.

FMJ is a phenomenal boxer and one of the most skilled boxers in recent memory, but he doesn't come close to putting up any semblance of a fight against Martinez.

He has proven plenty of times in the past that it really isn't difficult to sign off on a fight.

Bottom line: a FMJ/SM bout would be a megafight, possibly the biggest fight in decades, certainly a much bigger fight than a fight against Victor Ortiz. He would make a **** TON of money in a fight against Martinez. Money is the most important thing in the world to the guy. So why hasn't a fight been signed by him yet? Because he knows he would get dog walked.
