You cant win man. They will say that Floyd should have just taken less money to prove he wasnt scared.

I really dont know what Cotto has accomplished in the ring that would have frightened Floyd. I mean, really, what performance can you point to and say, "Yeah, this surely would have scared Floyd"?

I doubt that. Cotto was undefeated and I heard more demand for the Cotto fight the Margo fight

Let me ask you this, who has Cotto beaten that would have beaten Floyd?

fact remains, cotto of 2008 would have been floyds riskiest fight in comparison to all his 147 cherrypicks. :good

yeah, Bob was just itching to put Cotto in with Mayweather. Because Bob loves ruining his fighters for other promoters.

again....odds are due to Floyd's cherrypicking ways, Floyd/Ellerbe was asking for Cotto when TR was pushing for Floyd-Margo.

First of all, Floyd-Margo in 2006 which is when Arum tried to make this fight (ironically right as Floyd was leaving TR) would not have done more than Cotto-Floyd.

Margarito was not known to the casual fans AT ALL at this time. He was just known as a tough journeyman level fighter who had several losses on his record when he stepped up in competition.

He had never even headlined a PPV that did more than 50,000 PPV buys. I mean really, what big name opponent had he beaten? (And beating Kermit Cintron on ESPN does not count).

Cotto was undefeated, packed arenas in Puerto Rico, Vegas, and NY, and had done a few PPV's that had done upwards of 150,000 buys. In fact, his PPV against ZAB did over 250,000. His fight with Mosley did 400,000.

Margo had never, ever done ANYTHING near that amount, and was considered a ESPN fighter at the time. He had never really headlined any major shows on any of the major networks (except friday night fights).

So, how does Floyd-Margo do bigger numbers in 2006 than Cotto-Floyd in 2008 (or any other year for that matter)?

And get this, after Margo did all that calling out of FLoyd in 2006, what did he do next?

He finally got to headline on HBO against Paul Williams. AND HE LOST!!!:deal

You mean the same Cotto that had to pop Judah in his nutz twice just to stop him from possibly pulling off an upset on his ass.
