Now I see alot of people on here saying Mayweather is feather fisted and this and that. Now let's look at both of their KO records. Mayweather is 38-0 with 24 KOs. Hatton is 43-0 with 31 KOs. True Hatton does have a SLIGHT advantage in his KO percentage. But he does have more fights then Mayweather. Also Mayweathers opposition is MUCH better then Hattons. And one more thing that people fail to mention is that Mayweather climbed through different weight classes while Hatton stayed at 140. What are your thoughts on this?

My thoughts are that Hatton hits harder. Pretty simple really. Mayweather wouldn't have knocked out Castillo, shot or otherwise, he would have danced around and got a late TKO

Doesn't the point about Mayweather climbing through weight classes actually plays into Hatton's corner in terms of a power argument?

If Hatton is capable of the kind of KO percentage he has at 140, at a lighter weight he would've been getting even more KOs.

The fragile-chinned Judah, who gives Floyd 12 competitive rounds, is sparked in 2 by the iron-chinned Tszyu who is stopped by Hatton. Castillo, who twice goes 12 with PBF, done in 4 by Hatton. Tony Pep, who goes the full 10 rounds with Floyd, stopped in 4 by Hatton. Any more questions?

Hatton ko'd Castillo, the man who very nearly pwned Mayweather, in 4 rounds.

That's some seriously flawed logic there.

Mayweather is a totally different type of puncher. Cleaner, more accurate shots. He didn't need KO power in both fists to beat the **** out of Gatti. And he hit DLH with some decent shots at LMW. He's neither feather fisted or a devastating puncher, but his accuracy is awesome.

Floyd is more than capable of picking Hatton off and TKOing him, but then Hatton is capable of breaking him in two if Floyds actually stupid enough to stand and trade with him.

    Hatton is the better puncher:good

Floyd isnt "feather-fisted" :nono But many of his fans OVER RATE his power:yep

    4 Ko's in 11 fights outside of 130.

Good post. You actually used sound, logical, basis for your reasoning. Some people on this site don't understand that concept.

You mean Hatton is the harder puncher.

I don't read much into the knockout percentage of the fighters.

For me, Floyd's power is underrated, I really hope Hatton is playing mind games when he says Floyd is feather fisted. (and I'm sure he is).

For certain, Ricky hits harder than Floyd no question. For me, the big factor in this fight is whether Hatton can take the counters that Floyd will be landing in order to get his own shots off. If he can, he wins the fight, if not Mayweather stops Hatton late on.

However, my prediction remains the same. Hatton KO/TKO 10.

Castillo has been in so many tuff fights , that his body was bound to give at one point .. it like chopping on a big oak , keep chopping away at it one day it will fall.

The thread title is referencing KO%, and thats what I was responding to. Better as in harder and more effective. Hatton has the higher% and more fights.

    PBF=4 Ko's in 11 fights dating back to 2002 above 130lbs:yep

You could definately argue that Hatton is a harder puncher, but I think you could also make a good case that Mayweather is the more effective puncher.
