Floyd Mayweather speaking of LHW Andre Ward had a lot to say about how Ward's career is progressing.

Mayweather stated that Ward made a terrible mistake in signing with Roc Nation and this poor business decision will adversely affect Ward's career.

Personally, I completely agree with Mayweather. Ward took the long money from Roc Nation, possibly at the expense of his ongoing career.

Mayweather stated that if Ward were with Haymon he would not be at LHW but stayed at SMW.
Haymon would have definitely pursued the Golovkin fight with much more positive results than Roc Nation.

Mayweather says with his retirement, if the boxin org wasn't so Euro bisaed that Ward should have been immediately placed at #1 P4P.
Once again Mayweather shows his complete knowledge of the boxing industry.

 Instead of "schooling" your niche should be "school drop-out".

Mayweather has already risen 5 divisions.
    How many has Golovkin achieved?
If you call Mayweather a coward for moving up 4 divisions and not a 5th, then what would you label Golovkin who has failed to move even one division, even when the biggest fight of his career is offered. :rofl

Anyway, as usual your reply is off-topic and completely unrelated to the thread of Ward's promotional signing.

No doubt the Roc Nation contract was lucrative and Ward's number 1 priority is feeding his family, but Jay-Z and Roc Nation don't deserve a fighter of Ward's caliber because they are far too green to service him properly.

I agree that Ward should have signed with Haymon; at least Haymon would have ensured Ward was fighting regularly.

It means that, upon Andre Ward returning and beating blown-up middleweight Paul Smith, Mayweather believes Ward should have been inserted at #1 P4P without any arguments -- above Roman Gonzalez, to boot.

For what it's worth, I think it's a fair shout to have Ward in the current P4P top 10 as an Emeritus pick, based off his run on the Super Six -- possibly even top 5. Should he beat Kovalev, Ward goes to P4P #1 without any deliberation.

Nobody can ensure Ward fighting. On one hand, he wants to fight bums, but on the other hand, he wants to headline a card and earn millions.

Maybe Andre Ward isn't content fighting on saturday mornings on CBS against haymons stable of no-names.

The money and glaring of staying with HBO is sooo much better :happy

I mostly agree except with Ward being given the spot solely on his defeat on Paul Smith in his warmup.
Ward is an undefeated Olympic Gold medalist who easily won the Super6, but with an injured right arm. The skills Ward displayed beating Abraham, Kessler and Froch one-armed proved Ward's mantle to everyone.
Now that he has two good arms I wouldn't mind seeing him repeat the feat with rematches with Abraham, Kessler and Froch again.

Ask yourselves why Haymon didn't try to sign Andre instead instead of assuming he went tooth and nail with Roc to land him.

The talent Al wanted, Al got.

Ward has a manager he's extremely loyal to- James Prince. There's one fighter in Al's stable with Prince, and that's Andrade. It's been like pulling teeth for Al to get anything going with Andrade thanks to a series of baffling career decisions, call outs, and inactivity.

Sound familiar? You get all that with Ward, plus a lawsuit risk and high minimum purses. Why would Al sign up for that?

Ward was a trap he was happy to let Roc deal with.

Ward should sign with USADA and NSAC, illegal IV....no problem, you're not doing anything wrong.

Andre should've. He took a big risk signing with a neophyte promotional company, but I guess the money was too exorbitant for him to say no to (same with Rigo.)

Haymon has a good collection of fighters and would've been able to make significant fights for him at 168. He also has a good working relationship with a few overseas promoters and could've gotten him some solid fights such as against Degale.
