Summary story of the last minutes of the recently condluded mediation fallout.

When Pacquiao's team gave their proposal, "ALL" of Mayweather's advisers advices Floyd Jr. to take the fight or say a counter proposal. Plus Scientists present in the mediation guaranteeing Floyd Jr. that the parameters that the Pacquiao camp are offering will keep both fighters protected against each other for PED use. Mayweather apparently refused to offer any counter proposal to the Pacquiao camp. He just simply say "NO". Then fight is off.

this is the thing. Pac said 30 days, did Floyd come back and say "7 days" or something of the sort? Not that I remember.

Whats the dea??. We heard Schaefer claim they were open to negotiating a cut-off date but we never heard which cut-off date they were willing to accept.

Pac vs Bradley, make it happen!

he refused, did not even dare to make a counter-offer to pacquiao's proposal.

It should not come as much of a surprise to BoxingInsider.com readers that the pound-for-pound pretender Floyd Mayweather would back out of the March 13 “Super Bowl of Boxing” as he did last night at Daniel Weinstein’s mediation meetings. According to various reports, Mayweather rejected the pleadings of his own handlers to take the fight, refusing to accept the 24-day before fight random blood test for superstar extraordinaire Manny Pacquiao.
This duck by Mayweather will prove costly, not only to himself – he was guaranteed $25 million and could have earned up to $40 million – but also to the sport, HBO, Golden Boy and sporting enthusiasts all over the globe who were eagerly looking forward to the showdown. It is not clear at this time how Mayweather’s evasion of the fight will affect his business relationships with HBO, Golden Boy, his sponsors, and his supporters. But the saying, “A coward dies a thousand deaths,” may most accurately describe what Mayweather has to look forward to in regards to his professional and personal future, as well as the devastating defamation lawsuit he now has to deal with from Manny Pacquiao.
The deathblow to the March 13 Super-fight came when Mayweather apparently refused to offer any counter proposal to the Pacquiao team late yesterday evening, effectively canceling the highly-anticipated event.

PHILLA, totally agree with you. Pacquiao's camp are waiting for a minus a few days offer by Floyd Jr, then toss another number, then back again. It's called negotiation. But it didn't happen, Floyd Jr. didn't toss the ball back. Flat out just saying "NO".

We have only heard Pacquiao's team view on the situation. Lets hear what GBP and Team Mayweather have to say before we throw accusations around.

Mayweather wanted Olympic-style random drug tests to be performed on the fighters. These require blood to be taken as opposed to the standard urine tests that usually go on. The Pacman’s team said they had no intention of allowing this and have come up with a few reasons. I first heard that Manny is scared of needles. Now I can understand that; I’m scared too! But surely, the guy that has been smashing everyone to bits lately wouldn’t pass on such a fight because of a needle?

Then I heard it was because they wouldn’t bow down to Mayweather’s rules. Freddie Roach has stated that he won’t allow his boxer to give blood within 30 days of the fight, saying that it will affect his preparation for the fight.

Many people are saying that it’s Mayweather’s way of backing out of the fight, that he’s running scared. Bob Arum, who used to promote Floyd, feels the Mayweather camp have never fancied the fight and that with each contest Manny has had, he’s frightened Mayweather off even more.

I don’t buy into that. I feel Mayweather knows this will be a potentially tough fight, he is a student of the game and knows Manny’s style inside out. I feel they just want a level playing field going into that ring.

There have been rumours about Pacquiao for a while. Not so much steroid rumours, but more in the line of growth hormone boosters. I personally have been told this by Americans in the business so if I’ve heard the rumours, then Mayweather and his team, especially the vocal, ‘all-knowing’ Floyd Snr, definitely has. Now rumours are usually just that, rumours started and spread by people who are jealous of someone else’s success. In this case, I think they were started the same way.

When Mayweather Snr made an off-the-cuff remark about this supposed illegal substance use, we all thought the same, that Snr had overstepped the mark this time and he was out of order with making such a claim.

But here is my problem with the whole mess. By Manny, Freddie Roach and Bob Arum all reacting like they have, jumping up and down and making counter-claims and refusing to take the tests in such an aggressive manner, I feel they have made an issue out of this. Now I’m not for one minute saying he IS guilty of doing anything wrong, Manny has never in his entire career failed a drug test. But why the big refusal? They have not given one reason important enough for me to think they are right in not taking the test. If Usain Bolt was refusing to take a random drug test how would the world feel about him?

Going back to the tests, the reason Team Mayweather want the blood test is because they are suspicious of Growth Hormone being used. Not steroids. Growth Hormone shows up only in blood tests, not urine tests. That’s why a urine test isn’t suitable as far as they are concerned.

I heard the Paquaio camp stated that they would have taken the test if given the date and if it was at a suitable time so it doesn’t interfere with their schedule. That’s not random testing! Random testing, like all Olympic athletes are subject to, can occur at any time; I believe footballers are subject to the same process. If it’s okay for them then I believe it should be used in boxing also. If you have nothing to hide then, so what?

I think for his reputation’s sake, the fantastic Pac-man should have taken the test. It’s something that could now follow him throughout his career, tarnishing his legacy in many people’s eyes.

To me its simple. If you’re not cheating, you could have taken the test and if you’d gone on to beat Mayweather you could have laughed in his face for his accusations. Oh and you could still file the lawsuit.

Good luck on that. I hear GBP's not issuing a statement because they know PBF backed out.

I did read from another source that Shaefer and Haymon tried to convince Floyd to take the fight, and he flat out rejected it.
