Why fight Maidana when he lost against Alexander decisively? I don't believe this list is anything definitive.
6 fights will cover a span of at least 3 years in Floyd's case. We can't really anticipate who will be the best logical choice 3 years from now. To many things can change..
Maybe Maidana is the free network TV (CBS) fight? He fits the criteria: a) fan-friendly style that's perfect for Mayweather and b) offers no real threat. :think
http://bostonherald.com/sports/other/boxing/2013/02/showtime_sure_to_lose_on_money ... the list includes Robert Guerrero, Danny Garcia, Marcus Maidana, Devin Alexander, Alfredo Angulo and Saul Alvarez ... With the exception of Alvarez, the list is terrible. Showtime may lose money on this 6 fight deal!
Picking six opponents for a 30 month contract would be silly, in 30 months those fighters could fight 3-8 times, what happens if he leaves Alexander to the end and his record reads 24-9, I'd ignore this.
