He was willing to fight Tszyu. Tszyu lost to Hatton. Then Mayweather beat Hatton, when Hatton was bigger.

He will fight Cotto...but Cotto needs to maximize his popularity. They want to win a lot of money with this fight.

    Notice with Floyd?

Everyone said Tszyu was the guy to beat, he beat the guy who beat Tszyu

Everyone said Judah was the guy to beat, he beat Judah AND the guy who beat Judah

What you need to look at is that this could be a mega fight to rival any in the history of boxing, (outside of some famous heavyweight bouts of course)

    Unfortunately Cotto still needs to be sold to places outside of the American continent. If I was to walk down the street here in Sydney I could ask 100 people who Cotto is and it's possible that not one person would know. That isn't the case for Dela Hoya and Mayweather so it makes perfect business sense to;

    a) put the Cotto bout on hold until he destroys a few more opponents

    b) have a rematch with Dela Hoya.

As for Cotto's fans in Pueto Rico, they aint going to make either fighter millions on their own. Get two great fighters together and promote them well and the cash flows in from not only America but all around the world, especially Asia, Australia, Europe and Kampachea....

If I was managing both fighters the only thing happening now would be the trash talk. People outside of boxing need to know what's going on.

A couple of more fights was exactly what Floyd said he wanted Cotto to have when Miguel was at 140...now Cotto fight s at 147 and had several fights...but still nothing. How long can Floyd keep this charade up? No one is going to sell PPV like DLH or maybe Hatton, so he needs to get real...****, Floyd couldn't sell PPV's like that...he's couldn't sell **** without those 2 as his opponents...so what's left. He can't keep fighting the same two guys for the rest of his career. By the time Floyd decides to grow a pair, Cotto will not need him. Cotto will get his acknowledgement the old fashion way...by cleaning out the division and pulverizing his opponents. Floyd is just going to just fade away and forced to fight a nobody...and than all the Floyd fans will realize that Floyd is not the super PPV guy he claims to be. His so called legacy will be tarnished by the fact that he ducked both Cotto and Margarito.

As long as DLH and Hatton bring more money.
So far Cotto brings no money at all - never a proposal was made, right?:think

Even a ridiculous one like for Tony with only $8m :nut

    Miguel Cotto vs Floyd Mayweather

Will be a phenomenal fight guys...This is a fight that will live up to its expectations and then more. Both fighters are going into the fight of their lives IMO, Floyd has something to prove against Cotto and thats to shut everyone the **** up and prove to everyone that he is as unreal as he says he is. Cotto has everything to prove in this fight as this fight will ultimately define his career. There aren't any ATG out there right now. In terms of their best opposition, Cotto is the only thing Floyd's got and Floyd is the only thing that Cotto's got. I'm not saying Floyd isn't accomplished because he is, but Cotto will be the best fighter Floyd has faced to date, anyone who denies this is a fool.

Mayweather says LOTS OF ****. There's even video evidence that PBF said Tszyu wasnt OLD ENOUGH yet, he wanted to beat Tszyu like Tszu beat Rog. Old Lion vs Young Lion.

So Floyd can offer and talk and talk, talk, TALK. His career is measured in wins, losses, fights, and quality of opposition.

Fight Hatton again over CottO? It's a FINAL NAIL in a career long puzzle of avoiding the toughest foes.

Cotto brings no money at all?...you're a ****ing cumdrop. You're another floyd homo boy lying to himself just to justify Floyds reason for ducking. You guys as pathetic as pink floyd is. You must be really concerned about Floyd's financial situation considering you rather see him fight another bull**** match, than best possible opponent. You're not a boxing fan...you're a floyd fan.

I don't get why you even sit here arguing about cotto vs floyd all the time. These threads make me sick, do yourself a favor and stop paying attention to these conversations and you will thank yourself for it because when the fight finally happens in 09 you're going to enjoy it a hell of a lot more.

All you can do is listen to Floyd and watch what UNFOLDS.

I hope he doesnt try Hatton 2 over Cotto. Thats the reason I point it OUT!!! Yet History is as HISTORY DOES and Floyd's shannigans are way played out:good
