Normal hockey is a major world sport Ice Hockey isnt.

Basketball is not a major sport outside America.

Olympics is about politics these days, how can the worlds biggest sport which only joined Olympics recently have 2 gold medals men and women whilst swimming has more than 30 gold medals.

Lol. I'm American and I've never heard someone call English "American" sorry.

I dunno about Americans wanting you to play our sports either. Doesn't seem like the NBA,NFL,MLB etc really care if they go international. They do like 1 game a year out of the country thats about it.

Personally I don't really see why people are complaining about our sports. We made a few up and now have a bunch to play competitively that are entertaining. What do Europeans even play other than Football? Tbh Cricket, Rugby etc never seemed big to me maybe im wrong. I have a few English, German and Swedish friends and they only seem interested in Soccer and some mostly the German people I know like Basketball.

Cross-purposes. We don't play soccer really, so we don't excel at it. We play our sports. We don't need to measure gridiron domination against other countries because we don't have to think about it that way. Soccer here is a sport for kids whose 'soccer moms' want a wholesome activity not associated with urban culture (basketball) or large equipment costs and physical hazard (gridiron, which without the padding can kill you because of how we play it). The World Cup is a byline for most people, who live and breathe football and basketball.

So 'claiming domination' assumes we are framing it against a global background. Not true at all, what other nations play is irrelevant to us. Boxing just happens to have alot of foreigners playing against Americans, so those of us who still follow boxing have some knowledge of foreign boxers... even in Olympic basketball, the NBA throws together a hodgepodge of players off-season and fans just kind of wait for the distraction to be over and the real game to begin.

This is an interesting sideline into how differently Americans and Europeans view such matters, I have often wanted to get into such discussions while reading threads.

What the hell is normal hockey lol?

Um yes it is. Infact it is rated behind soccer as the second most popular sport in the world.

So you are saying they should hand out 30 gold medals for soccer? How exactly would you accomplish that without individual events? See who can kick the ball the farthest? See who can dance around cones the best lol?

    You are a moron.

The Williams Sisters are ranked 2nd and 6th in the world and have won recently.

Blake and Roddick are still top10 too even though they suck.
