my point is that you cannot have possibly reached the highest possible standard because is such an isolated environment. rugby is played on at least four continents to a very high level and to be honest i dont see how you could take the nfl with just 300m people to choose from and posibly hold it up to that.

You wanna compare the USA and the USA now? Ok.

    Your best vs our best.

You have calzaghe, hatton and haye. Wow what a world beating lineup. :rofl

We have Mosley, De La Hoya, Forrest, Williams, Berto, Pavlik, Hopkins, Dawson, Diaz, Campbell, Cunningham and Mayweather.

    Who wins? :hi:

Its a great point and a small example of this recently in boxing is Joe Calzaghe.I don't think his American opponents have the experience of fighting against that type of fighter who just doesn't exist in the American boxing scene.

    Nope! wrong sorry!

at a top level means being able to compete genuinely an international level is a posibility. those examples you give for american sports could be repeated a million times over for cricket rugby and football

Hold on minute! You were just :| because we were comparing Europe to the USA, which has a much closer population and geographical size to the USA than the UK has to the USA.

    So lets get this right.

You want to compare a country smaller than oregon to your own because it suits your argument.

But you dont want to compare Europe to your own, because it dosent suit you or your argument so you then claim PR as a US state?

Lets not forget you also get home advantage very fight near enough, I would love it if my football team played all its games at home.

Sorry. I know very few countries take Rugby seriously. I know in South America Argentina is the only country that really plays Rugby. in Europe, you have the UK, France and maaaaybe Italy that take the sport seriously. Then you have South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

you know how I know this? The USA regularly competes in the Rugby World Cup. We dont even have a professional league. That tells you how popular the sport is worldwide.

Oh and you'll find that countries like Spain, Italy, Greece, Russia, China, Argentina, Lithuania, France take basketball very seriously.

yet most dont have real pro-leagues, they all have day jobs! Thats not a proper league if you work 9-5 then practice in the evening. Same in England, we have a shitty league because nobody gives a ****. The MLS has pro players, they get paid and dont have day jobs, the UK basketball league and the leagues in most those countries arnt real pro leagues.
