What do you think would happen if FLoyd Mayweather Jumped 25 lbs above 147lbs to 160ish at 35 then dropped back down to Welter at the age of 35?

do you think it would take a tole on his body?

    Big RJJ fan here....

It wouldn't be the same. Jones gained muscle to move up. His style required power to keep you off of him and honest. It was built on explosion and powerful counters.

Mayweather would go up to 160, but still weight in around 150 for the fight. His style doesn't require more power and he wouldn't bother putting on much weight, much like he didn't do so at 154.

that was the point i was trying to make,,,,,what RJJ did was crazy....and almost Ironic considering he was supposed to be a ZERO risk taker...even crazier that he fought Tarver back to back then Johnson weight drained...

Thats what an ego can do to you.....bite you in the butt!

, Not the greatest RJJ fan but hes the most talented fighter I have ever seen.

I think we all will miss the guy when hes gone. I have never seen him bad mouth an opponent or diss a guy like Floyd.

i think with floyd's style he could be fine because his defense is more too absorb punches rather than rely on sheer reflexes which is where he would take a hit on his skills if anything.

yes...but you havent read the thread peoperly Rones had an unbeatable style pre Ruiz, at 35 solidly filled out at 170 then dropping back down to a solid 147 at 35 .....no way any human being does that without an effect on the body,

How about the fact that he won his first fight after he came down from HW? Roy fans seem to forget about this.

At 35 Mayweather will find it easier to make 160 than 147.

not all Roy fans ;), thats the reason why I dont believe Roy needs Tarver again, There's only one guy out there thats beat Roy and Roy hasn't beaten and thats Glen. I would like to see Roy rematch Glen and get a W, would do alot for his legacy, which I think was wrongfully tarnished because of his late career losses

**** Glen Johnson. Roy needs to fight the Executioner again. That's the fight I want to see.
