Like Manny beating Oscar I don't think Floyd will get much credit from beating Shane in the long run. It's unlikely Shane will do much from here and unless he does too many people will just think he was completely shot and done. Beating Paul Williams at 154 or 160 or Manny at any weight would mean far more. Even beating Sergio for the 160 title would mean much more than what he did against Shane. Again if Shane comes back and has some significantly good performances it will make Floyd's win look better. People thought Barrera was shot when Manny first beat him but then Barrera went on to win his next 5 or 6 fights including moving up a division to take and hold a title for a while which changed Manny from beating a shot MAB to him beating one just past his prime.
That's a really good point. If Shane continues to prove to be a significant force in future fights, it makes it difficult for people to label him as "shot", which has become an overused term whenever you don't want to give someone you hate credit for a good win. He can start by rescheduling that fight with Berto.
