That's an assumption on your part. You can stick with that assumption, but don't turn around and get on me for assuming Tony's success was due to him cheating. If there was only one reason why Baldo got his shot, then it's fair for me to say there was only one reason why Tony kept getting destroyed after having his wraps confiscated.

That's fine. If you want to believe the level of comp Baldomir fought legitimately made him the next logical opponent for the Lineal WW champ, compared to who was fighting in the division, and with a fight with Mayweather ALREADY signed and ready, that's all you. I'm sure you would also agree Shane's recent high ranking at 154 for Alvarez's belt was based on merit too, or that Judah's promoter also promoting Spinks as well was just a coincidence. Nah, couldn't be. :D

BTW, do you honestly believe Baldomir fought his way to a deserving shot at the World WW title, or are you just playing devils advocate to defend Mayweather's choice? I honestly cannot tell.

Boring fight. Floyd being Floyd and potshotting to an easy UD. He never stepped it up and put the hurt on a guy he was dominating. This is why people find Floyd boring , although he's been a little bit more interesting to watch lately.

Mayweather vs Baldo - kind of a gem?

I can hear Leonard , Hearns , Duran and Benitez just plain laughing .

Cannot blame Baldo , he beat a terrible Judah , but honestly the men to beat then were Forrest and Mayorga.

Why shouldn't floyd get credit for beating Baldomir, a guy who was the legitimate champion at WW.

Floyd can still move like this IMO. He chooses not to because it's boring to the casual fan, and fans don't want to see a boxing clinic. They want to see a fighter move forward and land leather. Floyd chooses not to box like this but best believe he still can. He showed signs of it in the Marquez fight. Very few, but he showed signs none the less.

Yes. He had won the WBC international title, he had gone several years without a loss, and he won the wbc title elimantor prior to facing Judah. C'mon Lance, let's not act ignorant here. Baldo wasn't some guy who came out nowhere to get a title shot. He worked his way up the rankings, winning a minor title, and winning a title eliminator. That's how you get a mandatory shot.

That was one of the biggest business blunders Arum ever made. He could've made a ton of money off of Mayweather. Meanwhile, Mayweather ended up making more money against Hatton and Hoya than he asked Arum for, and will make more money against Cotto.

Floyd/Baldo is like PAC/Diaz. It's not a ****ing gem cause it's a ****ing mismatch. This is why I made a thread about most Floyd fans being dumb. This thread justified it.

Was David Diaz lineal champ at 135? Was he rated the number 1 in the division and the man to beat?
