Yeah I mean, he was just so "shot" that he was the legitimate WW champ and almost challenging for another belt. He was a nobody. :blood
Mosley's mouth is always open. Always. Probably because his nose is ****ed up and he can't breath through it so well. ****, after the second round of the Margarito fight he sits in the corner with his mouth open taking breaths deep enough that you can watch his shoulders rising and falling. That's just Shane. That's who he is. He's past prime, but the guy in there against Floyd is the same guy that was in there against Margarito. He throws the same punches, makes the same mistakes, everything. Floyd just had the speed to paste him for it and the physical strength to prevent Mosley from doing everything he wanted. Of course it wasn't a prime Shane Mosley, but it was the same Shane Mosley we've had for a few years now, the older one who is past his prime, but still a top WW fighter.
Shane brought what tools he had available to him at this point in his life, and used them effectively 100% the way he knew how against a great fighter... Shane put up as good a show as i expected for a man of his years.. Floyd knew what the fight was as did Shane, A 2010 Sugar Shane v A legacy chasing money driven Floyd Mayweather.. I have to congratulate both men for agreeing to employ the drug testing strategy and bringing a great event last Saturday, Mosley wasnt on the slide he just is never going to be the same guy he was in 1998, because this isn't 1998... its 2010 and both men are older and wiser in many different ways... Saturdays fight was just what it was....
Outstanding post:good Mosley would still beat Margo's ass today, it was the same fighter. I give Mayweather the credit i promised him before the fight. Sure Mosley was not prime, but he has not been for years, and could still beat many top WW's in my opinion other than Mayweather.
You can't knock Floyd for fighting Mosley, SSM asked for it after all, furthermore he was the man at WW, it not Floyd's fault Shane is old. PBF won in dominating fashion once again beating "The Man" at WW. That said Mosley started declining when he left 154 after the Winky fights, today he reminds me alot of Holyfeild in 2000/2001 a tough durable warrior still good enough to be a contender and win a belt, but over the hill none the less. Losing to Cotto is something that would not have happened to a younger Mosley, if he fights again he will be 39 when he enters the ring, I'd hate to see him lose to someone like Berto, hopefully he hangs em up. Hopefully Floyd does what he needs to do and hangs em up too, I'd hate to see him end up like Roy Jones, Joe louis, Ali and the other greats who stuck around too long.
What a load of crap.... the mosley that fought floyd would get killed under 9 rounds if he was fighting Pac and thats the truth. He was gassed after the 2nd round, how the **** can he handl Pac's speed and relentless punching?
Yes he was overreaching a tad but Mosley will be 39 in september, and he really is over the hill BUT he was the man at WW and is still a good WW.
WE can all agree that the Mosley who fought Mayweather is nowhere past his prime then have barbecue afterwards. Infact, we can even agree that the 38 years is just illusion. Who needs reality when fantasy is much better.
Endball is Pacquiao nutt hugger A Troll A Hater A ****** Needs to get Pacquiaos dick out of your mouth atsch
Both Mosley and Floyd looked sluggish in that fight, could have something to do with the USADA testing.
I'm sorry you're weepy and maudlin over Mayweather getting all of the press now. Don't worry, Pac will probably fight Mosley now that he has been definitively beaten and he'll get the spotlight again for cleaning up leftovers.
Nah according to most on esb, this is the same super Mosley that jumped 2 weight classes and beat ODLH 10 years ago.
