Clearly he is a better inside fighter! But Cortez was a rubbish referee.

At least Cortez didn't give Mayweather a rest to tie his shoes when it looked like he was having a rough time and wasn't visibly taking PBF's orders on when to break apart the fighters. I'd actually be willing to lend some credence to all of this crying about Cortez's officiating if: 1. Hatton hadn't been the beneficiary of dodgy hometown officiating his entire career and 2. letting Hatton "fight his fight" didn't really mean let Ricky hold excessively, hit and hold with impunity, and punch off of the break all night long, all of which are supposed to be illegal tactics to begin with.

Hatton loses to Mayweather with any referee and at any weight.

See i totally disagree that cortez was biased. I've got the fight on dvd and watched it a few times now and yes there is a couple of occasions where cortez got overly involved but only a couple IMO.

Cortez allowed them to fight in close when they where throwing punches. Anytime they where in close and throwing shots it was allowed to continue, watch round 4 to see it

However when they where in close and just holding each other and wrestling he does brake them as he should. Were not watching WWE if the are fighting on the inside allow it to go if there wrestling each other break it up

 Even though Mayweather is American I was cheering for Hatton to beat his face in to shut up fans like the thread starters. :verysad

Classic performance by PBF. He was killing Chavez with thise upperccuts he has a very underrated inside boxing game and so much for those who say all he does is run.:-( He went to war.

BTW PBF is a much better inside fighter than Hatton. I knew it going into the fight that PBF would beat Hatton up on the inside as well as on the outside.

Mayweather has great inside fighting ability. Uses the elbow and other tricks to work a person over.

Floyd was rough as guts on the inside that night, I remember him constantly bracing Ricky with his forearm then belting him with three or four big shots.

Very much so. Floyd is a tremendously strong inside fighter.
