For me, it has nothing to do with personal dislike of Mayweather because I don't actually dislike him. I ndon't have strong personal feeĺings either way. I just can't be bothered to read a book about a fighter whom I have no interest in as a person and not much interest in the fighter either.
Will there be a chapter on woman beating? This is the only potential part of the book that might interest me. I've watched his career and it's boring, the money stuff is boring, TBE was laughable, the jail stories were boring. He's a boring guy. His personal stories would be very, very interesting though. The IV use, his dad's crack addiction, woman problems, stuff like that. My mangina is pulsating at the thought of reading this book.
Sure but he occupies a fairly lofty berth in the sport's history, and that alone I'd think should pique your interest as someone who cares about it. Virgil Hill, for instance, was rated top-10 p4p in Ring Magazine at one point (1989), had incredible longevity (even omitting his recent comeback putting his pro career in excess of three decades), was a silver medalist Olympian, and was 24-5 in world title bouts. Now, his personality and in-ring style are both pretty much utter pablum. Even so, based on the above, he is notable enough that I'd buy a book about him, being inclined to consume all things boxing related and soak up knowledge like a sponge whenever given the chance. ..and Mayweather is a tad more notable than Hill (and, I'd argue, was in more exciting fights...and is doubtless more colorful a character).
