So knowing that Mayweather is now a full fledged Welterweight with muscle while maintaining his natural speed, does Pacquiao stand a chance?

I used to say this fight was 50/50 now im not so sure. Mayweather bullied Mosley and fought anywhere in the ring he wanted, Pacquiao is fast, but defensively he's not much better then Mosley, and power wise I'd put the two at about the same level with Mosley being physically stronger with Pacquiao having a little more pop and fluidity. Not much between them in that department.

So how feasibly would Pacquiao win? He has good movement, but at times its a detriment, walking into big shots that he doesnt see coming something Mayweather is a master at. Mayweather is far more skilled and intelligent, and with one of the best current jabs in boxing we are finding out, someone foolishly on this forum said Cotto's jab was better then Mayweathers, Mayweathers jab had Mosley flying halfway across the ring. With Mayweathers jabbing and timing breaking up Pacquiaos rhythm, his inside fighting and cageyness keeping Pacquiao from firing away with imputinity, would Pacquiao's only recourse be a lucky 1 shot KO? Mayweather was rocked by Mosley twice in the same round, but it was more of an over hand right that did it, whereas Pacquiao does really throw overhand punches, he throws straight shots, with his most patent punch being the left hook. And I dont see that landing wiith the same intensity that the right landed for Mosley. Plus Pacquiao doesnt stick the jab to the body, he throws punches, but they arent deliberate, I outlined before that the feint to the body overhand right combination is Mayweathers biggest weakness, and I havent seen ever really Pac pull that combo out.

Honestly the prospects of Pac winning this fight look much bleaker. If Mayweather had outboxed Mosley off the back foot, we wouldnt have been surprised, but he stood in front of Mosley, parried, and outclassed in at a close distance, and when they did wrestle on the inside Mayweather overpowered him. Pacs proposition has become far more daunting.

deffinetly. before mosely-floyd i slightly favoured mayweather. now however its hard to see how pac can win this fight. i do feel that pac wont tire like shane did and he will keep applying pressure throughout. and i feel pacs offense will b much sharper than mosely's was in this fight. all those considered however you just feel floyd has an extra 2/3 gears he can click into anytime he needs it.

still wanna see this fight though! manny has a chance to win but id say its 70/30 in floyds favour

Yeah I think you're gonna find quite a few people now worried on the Pac side after the Mayweather|Moseley fight :scaredas:.

Even I re-evaluated the nature of a Pacquiao|Mayweather battle; and I'd picked Floyd to win in the first place anyway.
