Let me be clear so you can understand me. When I say he wont be there it doesn't mean moving away all the time. His defense will be on point and he will shell up, tie up, push off and whatever else he can think of. Now can you please answer this for me. Why do you think Sr said Floyd will throw more punches this fight than he has in a long time? Its clear as day by looking at the training that Floyd is lighter on his feet this time going up than he was against Cotto and Oscar. The boy is going to have a higher output and up the pace.
Canelo has no inside can ,if Floyd fights in the middle of the ring Canelo won't be able to do anything.
Although I am rooting for Canelo, this breakdown makes a ton of sense especially the way Floyd has been putting punches together in bunches on the heavy bag. This fight we will not see a pot-shotting Floyd.
All Canelo opponents had allowed him to be first ,big mistake ,Floyd will walk him down this fight mark my word.
I keep trying to tell folks this. People just don't understand boxing styles. These are probably the same people who thought Floyd was going to stick and move against Shane and were surprised that he was the aggressor and backing the supposed bigger man up.
Yep. You're right. Not sure how that has anything to do with what I said. Or is that your counter? Because Arturo Gatti was 10 times bigger and stronger than Victoriano Sosa yet Floyd walked Gatti down but boxed off his backfoot against Sosa.
:huh In virtually every Canelo fight i've seen he was the patient counter puncher, even more so against Trout.
The output won't be there man, Floyd not going to take the chance on it and with Canelo's style plus the weight drain he's not going to have to. It will be a super low workrate fight from both fighters, Floyd will be very safety-first, potshotting Canelo with his jab and the straight right on occasion while constantly moving. Canelo doesn't punch when he doesn't get clear openings, doesn't cut off the ring well, and will be sluggish due to the weight drain. The fight will be terrible.
I agree with the thread starter and do not see this fight as remotely competitive. Maybe if Canelo came in at full mass, but even then it's only a puncher's chance and an extremely slim one at best. I've said it before and will repeat it again -- once I saw Alfonso "The Contender" Gomez totally school Alvarez for like the first 4 rounds of their fight, I lost a lot of faith in Alvarez and what he was likely going to be able to do with his career. He can hit, and he's tough, and he's young, but he lacks skill. And that just won't work against Mayweather, particularly with the catchweight. I'm hoping Garcia vs Matthysse can provide some entertainment because I do not think much will be coming from the main event, sadly.
Canelo is gonna get picked apart by Mayweather's laser accurate counterpunching To have any chance, Canelo needs to fight ultra aggressive but he intelligent about it
You really have no idea how to break down a fight. Where are those combinations from Canelo? Floyd doesn't want to engage huh? Stay the **** out of my threads from now on. You where totally wrong and don't know **** bout boxing. hmmmmm:deal
