This could be just rumor/speculation, but interesting article surrounding the news from Mayweather's camp.

    http://guardianlv.com/2015/04/mayweather-camp-fight-blueprint-emerges/

In summary, Mayweather expects a careless Pacquiao, like one from Marquez, and will counter, etc. He'll let the first round play out to get a feel of Pacquiao's pace/speed. I don't think you're going to see a careless Pacquiao at all, imo. I believe Pacquiao will be strategically aggressive. Similarly to how he fought against ODLH.

One thing that I think discredits this article is saying there is focus on the shoulder-roll. That defensive stance doesn't work against southpaws and he doesn't use it against southpaws anyways, so I'll be very surprised if he uses it.

  2. Floyd will employ the shoulder roll out of habit (he's built his career on it). I don't expect to see it all night long, but when he does use it, Pac's straight left will find its way.

he does slip into it instinctively, usually out of a quick reaction. It doesn't happen that often though. Maybe 4 times in a fight against a southpaw.

Pac getting KO'd by Marquez really was a blessing in disguise its made Pac a smarter fighter and has made all of Pac's opponents since try and replicate JMM, which isnt going to happen as Pacquiao will never fight so reckless again!

If that is Floyds gameplan, he isnt going to win this fight, its as simple as that.

Both Rios, Bradley, Algieri tried to use Marquez's gameplan. All failed. Mayweather can't fall for the same trap. Stick to what he does best.

I recently watched Pac-ODLH fight, and even that Pacquiao won't win this fight.

I don't think Mayweather will follow Marquez's plan but that right hand is his bread and butter. And Pacquiao is a sucker for it.

nah number 1 reason its happening now its cause pac is bout ready to retire and they are ready to cash out...and they know floyd is close himself so this is prob their last shot

  11. The Pac from the ODHL and Cotto fights would destroy Floyd. Especially the one that beat Cotto down. There's a reason he ducked for 5 years, son.

I think they may be going back and forth with strategy. I'm pretty sure Roger and Floyd Sr. keep telling Floyd not to worry, that Pac is too small and reckless to have any chance. Floyd Sr. is probably telling Floyd what he tells everyone else - 'Keep him at a distance, time him.. he's gonna be coming in recklessly, he can'd beat you'

Floyd, on his side, is probably more worried than his uncles. He knows Pac was able to destroy DLH, Cotto and beat tough fighters like barrera, Morales, Marquez cause he brings a lot of speed, power and skills to a fight. I think Floyd is betting on Pac to be reckless but not as much as his uncles believe. He is probably debating whether to fight Pac more aggressive than usual, go for KO or box him defensively for 12 rounds. The problem with Manny is that being too defensive is most likely NOT going to work. Floyd has to fight in this one and he knows it. Manny's style will present him problems and i believe floyd is going to start cautiously but try to TKO Manny between 6 and 12 rounds. I think he will get in the ring knowing it will very difficult to beat PAcquiao by decision by being too defensive so he will wait for a reckless move and go for KO.

  13. I agree with this.

That fight is part of reason the fight didn't happen 5-6 years ago. A lot of people, probably including yourself, thought Pac was going to get destroyed.

He can't go into the roll. He will get hit with the left. He'll have to use high guard instead. Pac will then turn him into a Clottey shell unless Floyd can take the combos and walk Manny down. I don't think Floyd can handle that much pressure and continue to walk down Manny. That's like sticking your hand in fire and holding it there. Sooner or later you know what's going to happen.
