[yt]B0YcW6bsKHQ[/yt] Man these two are going to get super tired of each other by the end of the tour. I hope it gets interesting because they were pretty cordial in NY yesterday. This fight was perfect timing for Mayweather. If he would of taken the fight later or like next year, I dont think he would do as well against Canelo. If I was golden boy, I would of put Canelo in with Cotto and then with Floyd.
I agree with all you say OP. I've said those things since before this fight was made. Alvarez-Cotto still made sense. Alvarez struggled with Trout. Mayweather will box Canelo's ears off.
"Alvarez struggled with Trout" You say that as if its a bad thing. Trout is bigger Than Canelo , Quicker than Canelo , a true 154 pounder like Canelo and also has a higher work rate . Trout was very determined in that fight and yet still could not beat Alvarez And exactly how does Canelo having a hard time with Trout guarantees a floyd Mayweather win ?? I don't understand that logic...
They were separate points. I wasn't suggesting that struggling with Trout eliminates possibility of performing well with Mayweather. - Alvarez - Cotto was in my opinion the fight that should have been made prior to this one. Not only did it make business sense but it made career sense for Canelo. Saul is about to go from facing guys like Lopez, Mosley and Cintron to Mayweather in the space of one close fight with Trout. It's a big ask, and he could have done with Cotto as an extra acid test I feel. - Alvarez struggled with Trout. Well, he did. It was an average performance with bloated scorecards. Alvarez tried to box Trout and looked slow at times because of it. I scored it 114-113 Trout. The fight was a while ago, but I do remember being underwhelmed by Canelo's performance and, to be honest, the fight as a whole. - Mayweather will box Canelo's ears off. Again, he will. Not much more to say on this one. Just calling it as I see it.
