Would a win for Mayweather against Canelo at 147 lbs. be more meaningful or less meaningful than Ward's win over Dawson at 168 lbs? I have to say, it's a tough call. I'd like to read your opinions.
There's a lot of mass on that kid from what I've seen. I assume it would be tough for him to make 147 in an optimal manner.
If Mayweather had balls, he'd got up to 154 and fight Canelo. He'd be the favorite regardless. Canelo has limited stamina and can be exploited by a superior boxer or a fighter who can take the fight to him. This **** is just weak. There's no point in fighting if he's going to drag him down 7 lbs.
Canelo would be dead at 147, he's already killing himself and shortening his career trying to make 154. This guy should already be a middleweight or super middleweight. He's just really desperate for the pay day against Floyd.
Wait DLH made it to 145 after fighting Mayweather at 154. IF DLH can do it AND *******S SAY IT'S NOT WEIGHT DRAINING, why can't Canelo? Is it weight draining or not? You mean Pac's win are bull****?
he can ask the same, and he'll get the same **** pac did. Now shut up and take your medicine you whiner.
less. ward never campaigned at 175 where as floyd has fought at 154 so it shouldnt be a problem for him to fight there again.
You forget DLH had a tuneup at 150, as he was trying to cherrypick any higher ranked midget. Pac came into play after Hatton passed. Pac of course had only a single fight at LW. For comparison, Floyd could meet Hopkins at 168, after Hopkins has a tuneup at 171. Floyd is welcome to beat a top 5 SWW in the mean time
Keep your ***gy Mayweather/Pacquiao message board feud (now going on 4 years now?) out of this thread. **** is old and played out.
Yeah, a win over Canelo at 147 seems like it would be less meaningful, but Ward does have a history at 175, although it was a while back.
Floyd looks a lot worse on paper, really as bad as it gets. He still has that SWW belt, and he's trying to bring the guy down a full division. Probably never been done before. But to be fair, there's much less weight discrepancy for Ward Dawson. It's not really a stretch for Ward to move up for his 2nd belt. Dawson was drained, but he offered 168, and at least he could make the weight, which Canelo has 0 chance of doing.
