I disagree because Calzaghe is not a pressure fighter, he doesn't always cut off the ring and walk in behind a jab. Pavlik's punches will also take a lot more out of Hopkins.

More like Hopkins/Calzaghe. Tarver was only looking for the left hand. Hopkins could see it coming a mile away. Pavlik has a busy workrate like Calzaghe. So it will be incredibly boring. Yeah, i'm like you, no Hopkins fight is boring to me because i'm a fan but i really can imagine non-Hopkins fans reactions to his fights. I mean Hopkins/Calzaghe was a nightmare.

Calzaghe is not a pressure fighter but he's always throwing. And for a prideful guy like Hopkins who doesn't like to get hit flush, every shot is a threat. So it kept Hopkins on his feet all fight long. I see Hopkins being able to time and set traps for Pavlik better because he's so predictable and methodical and isn't quick on his feet. It will be a slower pace.

Calzaghe is an extremely awkward fighter, who can work effectively even when not given the right angles. Because of this, he was able to sustain a good workrate and tire out Bernard late (gassed from the third on??? WOW, pretty amazing how he stayed in the fight for 9 rounds while gassed...pretty good). Pavlik on the other hand is most effective when given space and time to set and unload...now tell me, is there a better fighter (maybe EVER) at NOT allowing a fighter to get set?

No way Pavlik just simply "outworks" him.

DLH, Winky, Tito, Calazghe, even RJJ & Toney failed to Retire Bhop. Pavlik will do the Honor. Good fight for Pavlik, he can Prove his greatness against a Legend. I think Pavlik will beat Bhop convincingly more than any of the Fighters who beaten BHop.

I dunno, I never count the ol' mothe****er out even if he can be Britney's grandpa'. The dude's a badass, he'll step on your toe or bite your eyeball and whatnot if he needs to. Maybe he'll end up on bronchodilator therapy by the end of the 9th round, his stamina's not what it used to be.

In any case, this fight ain't gonna be pretty, lemme tell you.
