No one is tailor made for Jermaine Taylor, but Pavlik is tailor made for Hopkins. 1st we don't know how well Kelly will adjust to moving up in weight and second exactly 0 people have even come close to koing nard so a "brutal ko" seems highly unlikely. I do think hops age could allow pavlik to outwork him, but I think this is more of a risk for pavlik as Hopkins is very hard to hit and counters very well when people come to him.

The whole excitement about this fight will be the over-under.

Pavlik will be a clear favorite after we saw how Hopkins' legs looked old against Joe C

Its still a much better fight than Sergio Mora

I'll be pulling for Hopkins be betting unless i get good value odds

Everyone STILL underestimates the pop in Pavlik's punches. Pavlik COULD have Hopkins shelling up like Winky.

With this thread, now he is being talked about. He is a journeyman at best. Again, who would he beat out of all the contenders moving up to 135 and the 135 that are hear?

I remember Kelly telling my buddies and I(2002) that he wanted to fight Hopkins and take his belt. When he walked away my buddies and I joked around and said he would never beat/fight B-Hops. Now the jokes on us.

    REP YOUNGSTOWN KELLY

I'd say no, but maybe I should defer to the Cal huggers that say his win over Bunny Hop was a crowning jewel.

Doesn't mean a thing if those punches don't land.

Do people really think the Pavlik is skilled enough to dominate Hopkins?

He has never fought ANYONE near as good at setting angles and using movement to keep him off balance. Id be suprised if Kelly gets to set and unload more than a handful of times all fight. Joe is a wizard at making a fighter fight HIS fight...and even HE fought Bernard's. Imagine how tough Kelly will have it???

I have said it all along...the one fighter Pavlik SHOULD NEVER fight is Bernard. Bernard UD...this is just a terrible, terrible matchup stylistically.

I doubt Pavlik's handlers allow it to happen tho.

It's your opinion, you should feel no need to defer to anyone - even if they're of higher intellect.

Calzaghe got credit and so should Pavlik because Hopkins is still a tough fighter to beat convincingly. It will be a good learning experience for Pavlik.

Absolutely - a schooling. But should Pavlik be going to university before he's finished school?

So why the hell did he fight Paulie then? Oh for money. What he is going to wait for Paulie to also get to a bar to claim his money.
