Lopsided decision w/ Hopkins work rate(at this stage) doesn't add up. He might have to knock Pavlik out.....
Hopkins deserves to go out with a good win, Pavlik basically jabs and shoots a right hand, far too predictable to beat Hopkins.
Seriously, I didn't think a Joe win over hopkins meant much and I will feel the same with Pavlik. There will be NO CORTEZ at this fight. Let's hope for Smoger. I think Joe was hampered by the poor officiating in his fight with Bunny Hop. The ref allowed BH to keep a fight from breaking out. If a fight breaks out between Pavlik and Hopkins, it will be a DECISIVE Pavlik win.
Irregardless if that story is true or not . . . what ever happens out side the ring won't count to his proffesional record. :yep So as far as boxing is concerned he is still undefeated.
Experience can only do so much for a fighter when he's past his prime. I think Pavlik's youth and activity will be too much for Hopkins.
Everyone that was going to 'school' Pavlik in the past found out that it is Kelly that rings the 'schools out' bell. :deal
I don't think Hopkins can pull off what he did with Tarver with Kelly Pavlik too, expecially several years later.
Hopkins is arguably coming off wins against Taylor, Winky, Tarver, and Calzaghe and everybody is talking as if he is shot to peices.
Hopkins' timing is impeccable. I think he'll drop Pavlik quite easily he's so easy to hit. As good as Pavlik's punch power is, there's no substitute for engaging your brain and doing things at the right time.
Good news for Calzaghe either way you look at it: If Hopkins wins, history will show Calzaghe's win over him was much more impressive than first realised - and that he wasn't totally shot, and can still fight (Everyone already knows Hopkins is a crafty SOB). If Pavlik pulls off a TKO or impressive win, and Calzaghe can get by RJJ; it sets up a massive Calzaghe-Pavlik fight at 168. Personally, I'll be pulling for Pavlik to knock Hopkins out, only because it sets up an intriguing match-up in Calzaghe versus Pavlik. I think this is great news. Plus, it will be interesting to see Pavlik-Hopkins, and how well Pavlik can deal with Hopkins' style/tactics. :good
As much as I hate the idea of this fight, for some reason I don't mind it and will be looking foward to it
