He doesn't have a good chin. He has amazing conditioning and ring instincts that allow him to:

-- Not get hit
-- Not get hit cleanly
-- Recover gracefully when hit

If FMJ trained half assed like many fighters he would have been done years ago. He doesn't come from a great lineage of "chins". The difference is that he is 100% dedicated to the sport where as others with his natural talent where not.

 

mayweather has a good chin, but his recovery rate is even better. floyd is a very special boxer, it's just a shame he doesn't have the attitude to match his ability.
