He has never fought any of the prime, winning, welterweights of his time.

That article is wrong. Mayweather has faced tough opponents. Is it his fault there are no other fighters with a record like his. He can only fight one fighter at a time. The articles leaves out the fact that Mayweather challenged Mosley for years. The article leaves out the fact that Bob Arum and Mayweather refuse to negotiate with each other. Has Mayweather taken fights he knew he would win ? Ofcourse he has but he has also fought stiff competition and made them look bad. Floyd has only been in one close fight.
That writer needs to get a life.

Baldomir was the Champ and Judah at the time was considered a tough opponent.

    He didn't want:

1.A WBO title against a guy that was fighting BUMS like Keyvelos..Gomez..and Lujuan:lol::rofl

    2.He didn't want to stay with Top Rank for 3 more fights(the 8 million was NOT a one-fight offer):deal

3.He wanted to be UNDESPUTED Champion...

4.He made 8milion for ONE fight against Baldomir.:yep

Great article, and that's sad if he's going after DLH, instead of either Sugar, PAC, or Cotto. I wouldn't care so much if he would just shut up about all this GOAT talk, That he's the best of his generation, then f'ing prove it. Fight someone, anyone that could give you trouble. that's what the fans want, not saying I want to see him lose, but that there is a chance that he could lose, that he would test himself. All he want is money and that "0", and you know that's all he'll be remember for....and he could be so much more.

neither was a prime, winning welter of the time.

    Baldo was not "prime"
    Judah was not "winning"

Tony wasn't a prime winning WW..He just got beat by an out of shape Daniel Santos.:hi::hi::hi:

Baldomir was on an EIGHT YEAR WINNING STREAK..beat Zab(who was red hot after KOing Corey Spinks) to become the UNDESPUTED WW Champ.

If Floyd chose a guy that just fought Sebastian Lujuan over the guy that beat Judah HE WOULD HAVE BEEN LAUGHED OUT OF VEGAS.

    Remember now..

Brian Kenney said "Floyd will never fight Baldomir":deal

Tony wasn't fighting anybody but WBO level bums..and he was fresh off a LOSS to Santos.

Zab was better than GOMEZ and LUJUAN:deal:deal:deal

Damn so Floyd ain't entitled to a Tune up fight, it ain't like he chose some Tomato Can to do it against. He's been gone for 2 years, and when he beats Marquez this sets him up to fight the winner of Pac v Cotto. All this he ducked and cherrypicked **** is just stupid. Mayweather's entire game is built on speed , accurate punching ,and defense; imagine he is a little rusty, and gets caught by Mosley ;that just completely ****s him up forever. Floyd is entitled to a Warm up , fighting Mosley fresh out of retirement doesn't do him or the fans justice at all.

Funny Pacquiao doesn't even belong at 147. He didn't even intended to fight at 147 until Oscar asked him. Hatton was not the best! Yeep he is not the lineal champion.:rofl

It's also funny that you're bringing Pacquiao in this thread when the thread is about Mayweather.:tired

Didn't Manny go after Oscar too...after getting his eyesocket smashed by Steve Forbes :think:think

Shane told Larry Merchant he had a toothache when he was asked about fighting Mayweather.

Cotto was at 140 when Floyd fought Baldo and never said he wanted Floyd...........EVER..:deal

Pac was at featherweight at the time.:hey

Do you think at the time that Baldomir / Mayweather was made, that the public wanted Floyd to fight Baldomir more than they wanted him to fight Margarito? Who do you think was perceived as a riskier, more dangerous fight? Why do you think there was such a backlash at the time? Have you seen the video of Floyd promising Margarito he would fight him?
