I think Kellerman pretty much answered it, and said that as a fight fan, how can you not appreciate this guy. Floyd without verbalizing it agreed. Also, Floyd himself stated that he has so much respect for Cotto because he came up the hard way like Floyd, and conducted himself like a true champion. I actually liked the Face Off. Floyd and Miguel just come off as friends but competitors, like most buddies do. I know that's how I am with my buds.
Floyd respects Cotto as a person outside of the ring, Cotto's a smooth, stylish operator out of the ring, extremely cool guy and he and Floyd probably have a lot in common because Mayweather likes to be the smooth and stylish guy too (notice him complimenting Cotto's watch)
way too friendly. I have never seen floyd so respectful, never. People have been talking trash about this fight BUT this is going to be huge. This is a LEGACY fight. Its on!
Pretty boring face off, compared to Floyd's last two. But, it's most likely because he respects fighters like Cotto whom he feels are tried, tested, proven, and who seem to be genuinely good people. Not to mention, Cotto is showing him respect and not being cocky or brash, which is usually what stirs Floyd up and gets him going. I don't expect much more from the 24/7, either. But, I think this event promotes itself anyway.
Cotto said that Mayweather is not surprising him with the unusual nice approach because he thinks he knows who Miguel Cotto is but he doesn't know and he will find out who the real Miguel Cotto is on the 5 th of May!!! Somebody is talking fighting words!!!
he was respectful with Marquez for the most part. Just wait till 24/7 when he starts makin fun of miguel... :deal
7.18 Floyd states that in his opinion Clottey BEAT Cotto also that Arum is trying to make Cotto appear undefeated and that is wrong!! ROFL what a turn around today LOL LOL LOL [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDOBJfo_MOc&feature=player_embedded[/ame]
Cotto is a true gentleman. Guy just trains and fights hard. No BS. Super likeable fighter. And Mayweather, I'm glad he recognizes that and treated him respectfully. I expect a decent fight and better than expected showing from Cotto.
