Damn this was a good fight. Cotto defense was on point, slowly but surely Mayweather was breaking it down though. That left uppercut for Floyd was starting to hit cleaner and cleaner
Upon further review of what happened in the 12th round, I think Cotto is damn lucky that it didn't happen sooner in the fight. It did seem like his energy was on its last legs and he was running on guts and heart alone but that point. Once again, great fight.
Cotto is one hell of a fighter!! he lost ,but won not only tons of fans for his courage and will. But for continuing being a better more complete fighter!!!
Good video man. Unbelievable craftiness on the part of Floyd on defense - he is better than ever with that shoulder roll defense, puts the left forearm in front and nails them with short right hands. Cotto did try with str8 lefts like Hya said was the best way to beat his speed and ability - to time him with a jab coming in but that was too poor to have a case.
And this is why Cotto wanted 10oz gloves. If 8oz gloves were used, he wouldn't have been able to use the extra volume of the gloves to protect himself. It would've been a mid to late tko with the smaller gloves.
2 things i remember about this fight from Cotto was him leaping in and surprising Floyd with a flush left hook while he was backing into a corner and knocking mayweather's head back(showing mayweather's solid chin), and also the 6th round left hook Cotto landed on Floyd at that weird angle while looking away and down. that **** was badass live at the movies ( despite there not being enough people ).
yea i saw it in the movies also! Where did you see it? Because I saw in Queens NYC and it was sold out 300 seats!
