IRS has more to do with his unretiring than anything else.

For a fighter who started very young and achieve so much at a young age, their fire would not sustain indefinitely. He was having hand troubles plus he thinks that people were not appreciating him. Infact, he cried after the Baldomir fight.

Study psychology and you will get it.

He did not have a normal adolescent, and you could probably make a comparison to Michael Jackson in terms that both never experienced being adolescent.

Once he retired and tasted the "good life", meaning he does not have to train to the point of pain and he could party all the time, why would someone want to come back again?

Study fighters who unretire and the only one theme that is consistent is they run out of money.

For all the money talks that Mayweather was blurting, the fact remains that he was having liquidity problems prior to JMM fight. Being unable to pay the IRS (as well as being sued for failure to pay for a car loan, i think a Maybach) means that although he might have assets in miilions to pay the IRS problem, he did not have liquidity at that time or simple terms, cash. Not unusual to many multimiionaire as their millions are actually tied to investments like stocks, proeprties, etc.

The timing of his unretiring might be a clue. In one of his early tweets, he was saying that he will become the first billionaire boxers, which simply means that he invested in one of those high risk, high reward portfolios. The Global market meltdown happened before he unretired. So pragmatic guess is that he lost money significantly during the global crisis.

Of course, this post is too complicated for you to understand.

    Not my original idea.

I think there was an article about Floyd not fighting again by Bert Sugar and he called him Floyd Maynever.

I so badly wanted this to happen in 2008/2009 right after Mayweather beat Hatton.

Now...i think Floyd comes out agressive like he did against Mosley and beats Cottos ass to a stoppage

He could have sold a slew of stocks and homes he has to pay that 5 million do is worth alot. but i do understand that this stuff takes time and the irs gives you a dead line so I definetly understand. thing is dude made a quick 40 million why stay? you know he not really on vacation he training he had his 2 fights
he maybe preparing for another 2 or the last 1
It just has to be more then just the money because he got the liquid money he can go play and your right he didnt have a child hood he couldnt even eat candy but I think its more then just money this go round. we will see weather your right, if your right he dont fight pac if im right he does.
he has 40 mill and has 2 big boy mansions paid off and millions in assets more then enough reason to say **** the world
    my theory
its bout more then just being rich and he actually cares bout his legacy

i think im gone be right on

Cotto had a pretty good chance at winning this fight when Mayweather was a small welter. Nowadays Mayweather is bigger, just as fast, and just too skilled for the slower Cotto.
