I disagree, I think Martinez is the only real competitive fight left for Floyd, he would UD Manny decisively and clearly.

Nope ! I went to bars to watch them or a friends house ..I was sick and tired of being disapointed with the results ..Let me ask you when what was the last PPV you paid for that the main event was a classic ??

MMA is a joke, most the guys arent even martial artists, havent mastered one discipline, defensive skills are marginal at best and punching technique is no better than a thug on the street

You just cant train for 2-3 years in pro boxing in like 8 fights and win a title its very rare....Leon spinks did it, and Joichiro Tatsuyoshi did it 20 years ago...

People expect more out of boxers than any other sport in the world
1)if a fighter loses on fight he is a fraud or was exposed, or shot
2)if a p4p fighter wins a close fight he was overrated
3)If he a fighter succumbs to the damage and bails out he is a quitter
4)If a fighter is dominant no matter how many champions and top contenders they beat they havent fought anybody(Jones beat more champions in his era than any other fighter and did Mayweather the numbers dont lie)

MMA fighters cant take a punch, quit all the time, and fights are stopped way to soon, give em a chance to go out on their shield half the stoppages the fighter in still coherent.

Sorry I can't fully agree with the ts...while I do believe the fmj vs PAC fight needs to happen I don't believe it will create this influx of fans that the boxing world is craving. It will boost ppv numbers but it will also boost the amount of casual fans that will criticize the event if it dosent live up to expectations and use it as justification when the turn their back on the sport yet again. This fight means absolutely nothing to many casual fans but I promise it will be entertaining to the hardcore aficionado and purest.

    This...^

The only real challenge for Floyd out there is Pac and Martinez. Anyone else and we already know the outcome. And I like cotto, he's a good fighter and a great person, but he's not elite and he's overrated...and the hate rolls in 3, 2, 1...

None. I don't pay for classics though. I just like seeing highly skilled boxers exercising their craft to a scientific and/or artistic level. Now if they were to have an opponent with a similar situation to margo(e) coming into the emmanuel fight, I wouldn't pay for taht ****

When floyd beats manny this year or next their will be an excuse....They have pretty much cornered themselves they have to fight or just retire

High ppv numbers= high viewership = high interest.

Mayweather and Cotto are two of the best. You're contradicting yourself here. The difference is that in MMA, a loss isn't the end of the world. Fans on this forum act like guys are supposed to never lose. The UFC has Jones and Evans going at it. How is that a better fight than Mayweather/Cotto? Both are good fights, but I'm not sure how Jones/Evans is example of the best fighting eachother while Mayweather/Cotto is supposedly a joke. And what about Anderson Silva? His comp is so overmatched that he actually looks bored in there at times and he even resorts to clowning just to amuse himself. How often is he actually challenged in the ring? Ditto for GSP.

good point. I don't see how Mayweather-emmanuel will SAVE boxing. Mayweather beats emmanuel. One group of casuals will be happy about the result, and the other not so happy. Both of them will go away after that though.
