I dare someone to try that in boxing...Imagine if lesner fought Klitschko in his 3rd or 4th pro fight...he'd get slaughtered...boxing is such an old sport, people dont appreciate the hard work and dedication it takes to make it to the highest level....their have been Olympic medallists who dont even become top 5 contenders let alone champs when going pro...I respect MMA, but 70% of the fighters arent real martial artist and dont have much skill, swinging like girls and hoping to land a hail mary or choke a guy out

PAY PER VIEW IS THE PROBLEM !

Why pay for mediocre fights ? Because of the build up when on paper its already a mismatch ! The bst way to rid ourselves of the PAY PER VIEW is not support it ! Support the fighters not the scam !

i hate fans who support their fighters to make money off of them. they should be giving us quality fights since we r the ones that made them rich

    Agree 100% dude.
Most casual fans wont pay that large pricetag for a fight, this **** needs to be on hbo at least, and more fights, high quality fights need to be on espn

I wish these promoters would use their brains and go back to televising fights on NBC AND CBS...good contenders and young champions defending their titles...save ppv for fights between p4p fighters fighting each other or the #1 or #2 in the division

indeed, i totally agree...I like Jones tho, the featherweights and lightweights are pretty good they are so fast and athletic, have some skill and their stand up is decent, but i like you said most the guys are garbage....look at Kimbo Slice he is a joke in the boxing ring because it takes more than being powerful to beat an opponent

Don't hate the player, hate the game. PPV isn't the problem; it's the lack of cable TV channels showing fights and the fights that are shown don't exactly bring in monster ratings. Advertising revenue and stretched out subscriber fees from HBO are not enough to pay guys like Floyd. What's the highest fighter budget for an HBO televised fight? I can't imagine it is more than 4 million.

If Mayweather fought on say, NBC, the network could charge high dollars for commercials/other advertising and could possibly generate enough money to pay him his standard fee that he deserves, although doubtful.

We should encourage and applaud anyone trying to maximize the amount of money they earn as long as it's legal and nobody gets hurt (combat sport aside). If you can't afford PPV and/or disagree with it, don't buy.
