" i think cotto has been watching me for a very very long time, he had a chance to be in the gym with me when i was with top rank and he use to sit right there everyday and watch me train everyday, watch me box. even some of his movement i see it comes from me
i'll say it until i die ... you don't learn from people from what they say, you learn more from what they do that's how you know the contenders from the pretenders. sounds like a bad cliche but it's true
Cotto tries to use a shoulder roll defense at times (and has virtually no success with it), but you can tell Mayweather has a lot of respect for him.
when i tried to say Cotto uses a crappy version of the shoulder roll, Lance_Uppercut tried doing his usually crap with me and arguing
Mayweather was once a massive fan of Pacquiao, too. Back in the good old Top Rank days. He also went up to Shane Mosley once and said "When I grow up, I wanna' be just like you". True story.
Like someone pointed out to me the shoulder roll has been done for yrs long before Mayweather..Just imagine though if both guys just shoulder roll through all 12 rds
I feel like I see you guys going back and forth on a lot of things But I'm with you on Cotto's shoulder roll. He doesn't have the reflexes to pull it off well enough to use it with much consistency and he doesn't counterpunch off of it the way the greats in the past have. He uses it as a defensive tool in some compromising situations and I think it makes him more vulnerable than if he simply put up a tight guard and moved to a different angle.
Its pretty clear to me Floyds using the reverse physco approach on Cotto. Cotto's much more fun to watch when he's upset....the mostly calm demenor he has is a natural disposition and its cascades into everything he does. A fired up Cotto would be a bit more of a challenge Floyds playing this diplomatic **** to a T.
