After Mayweathers 1 million PPV buys, Quite simple really. Everybody knows that Mayweather-Pacquiao is the biggest money fight. No doubt. But here is the question you have to ask. Purse splits and total pot?? Who gets the most between the 2? Mayweather backers will point to PPV sales, and Pacquiao fans will point to the gate?

So Mayweather and Pacquiao will fight for the bulk share. In the end it would be close to a 50/50 split.

But if Mayweather fights Mosley--He could and would get at least a 70-30 or 75-25 split. No doubt about that.

My thinking is Mayweather-Pacquiao would do around 1.8 to 2 Million buys.

Mayweather-Mosley would do between 1 million to 1.4 million buys in my opinion, based upon the success of Mayweather-Marquez. Mayweather-Mosley is a bigger fight then Mayweather-Marquez. While some will argue you are taking out the Latino audience, i would argue you are going to draw a huge African American buyrate, and a huge sportsfan mainstream buy rate. Plus I still think you would get a Latino audience because of the respect for both Mayweather and Mosley. Plus you have the history and contrasting personalities of both which would make for a great 24/7. Ask yourself this question, how many mainstream knew JMM was before last week or 24/7. And that did 1 million buys.

If you factor in the purse splits of both Mayweather and Mosley, Mayweather may make more or if not the same fighting Mosley as he would Pacquiao.

Also Mayweather wouldn't have to deal with Top Rank, which would take some money away as well.

For Mosley, his ego may be hurt, but he should say to himself. Either I make 5 or 6 million fighting Mayweather in Feb or March, or 2 million fighting Andre Berto in Jan.

Mayweather would stand to clear 20 million in both a Mosley and Pacquiao fight.

So for those out there who say Mayweather can't make money fighting Mosley, you are wrong. It is just up to Richard Schaefer to convince Leonard Ellerbe and Al Haymon this. But my money is Mayweather and company still saying No to Mosley.

I've realized that 24/7 can sell almost any fight. There is no way that Mayweather vs Mosley would not do at least 700K buys with a 24/7 series.

I think that Mayweather should go after Pac first. that fight would do huge numbers and would be good in terms of bringing alot of mainstream attention to the sport. Plus if he waits to long, Pac may retire to do politics. If Pac's team act like bitches at the negottiating table, then I say fight Mosley which won't be as big, but wtih good promotion would do excellent numbers as well.

i think the split in a Mayweather - Mosley fight whould be 60 - 40 to Floyd i cant see Mosley signing to fight for less then a 40% split and neither should he as i think anything less is a clear pointer to Floyd not wanting the fight with Mosley and pricing himself out of one with stupid demands

people talk about latino buys and phillipino buys and english buys as if those people dont like to watch black and white fighters..

Like i heard a writer say that 80% of the fans at the mgm for the fmj vs jmm fight where latino....like that means they are automatically jmm fans....I went to the press conferences for the hatton fight and the jmm fight and latinos and english cats liked floyd too..

a little off topic but i had to get that out...people are committing some serious logical fallacies

You are wrong. Mayweather-Mosley get ESPN coverage for 2 weeks straight prior to the fight. Plus it would be a winter fight when nothing else is going on besides College Basketball. This fight would do more then 700K Buys. Nobody thought the Marquez fight would do 700K much less 1M. And this is a bigger fight.

This fight does more then a JMM fight. No doubt.

a lot of money was spent on advertisement. i think mayweather could even get away with 80-20 with mosely.

the 24/7 series can bring in alot of casusal fans. i know a few people that got interested about the fight casue 24/7 was playing before or after some of the big shows hbo that attracts many viewers. [entourage, true blood, hung etc] not saying it made a impact of 100k, but im sure it helped put some butts in couches at least.

U would think. Why would I want to hear some fighter say "this is for my PEOPLE" or country, not his fans. Annoying. I like fighters of all creed, but crap like that is kinda divisive.

Mosley should get between 5-8 million and Mayweather would get between 15-20 million.
