I've said Floyds cherry picked his entire career and its TRUE. This is the ULTIMATE check mate to any opposing that assertion.

You have to be seriously DELUSIONAL to view this as a viable fight.

They may mean more to his legacy than a fight with DLH, but that doesn't neccesarily mean that they will do much for his legacy in the long run. I already explained that a fight with Cotto isn't feasible at this time. Mosely is 36, coming off a loss, and not much of a draw. Berto is still basically a prospect, who knows what kind of fighter he'll end up being. Cintron has beat a bunch of nobodies and struggled with Feliciano. He's also not a main eventer. Beating him may not mean much in the long run. Margarito is a tough fighter. However, he has 5 losses just like Hoya. He's also inferior to Hoya in every way except workrate and stamina. He's also not a main eventer. Clottey is a perinnial contender. He's never even held a belt. I don't see how beating him will add much to Floyd's legacy. So we're basically down to Williams. This would certainly add to his legacy. However, he won't make a guarenteed 15-20 million in that fight like he would against Hoya. I don't like it, but I can't expect a fighter to give up a huge payday to go after a relative unknown.

peter5..... although i do agree with about what you just said about cotto earning his fight.... DLH has done enough... hes a legend in the sport an hes already been down that long hard road to get where hes at..... lets face it DLH is still at the top of the mountain boxing wise where every one wants to get

Also lets face it..... if floyd were to fight cotto an beats him bad or KO's him.... all the media an all of the people on ESB will be saying cotto was overrated an was never really that fast...he was to one dimentional..he had a weak chin....ETC ETC .... plus DLH is the closest one to beat floyd to date... i personally thought he one a slim desicion

Nice comparison. **** PPV, Floyd doesnt have to accept the fight with Oscar, if he wants Cotto, he fights Cotto, as simple as that, therefore he has to accept a certain amount of responsibility for it not happening

If I was Oscar id want this fight not just based on money, but the fact if id raised my game 5-10% and used my jab like I should have ie for more than 10 seconds each round id have won.

Floyd on the other hand will hope he comes to the party in the same mindset he did last time.

Hes only at the top money wise:good I appreciate he has done it all, got the T-shirt, but at some point people have to fight others based on performances/Victories, and Oscar just hasnt done enough, and lest face it, Oscar is past his best, Cotto is prime, let the young buck prove himself, or he will be past it by the time he gets a chance to fight floyd

Reg...you're flat out full of **** on this:good

I love how many of the posters are ignoring the damage done to DLH's credibility and fan base with his "Ride me and call me Golden girl" fishnets routine. IN FACT? That's the only reason DLH may have changed his mind about having a second fight. PBf is the Champ so he figures it will sell.

Yet? As I've said? The opinion of this match up has changed from the first time. IT WONT SELL HALF OF WHAT IT DID THE FIRST TIME:nono
It's BULL**** and people can talk all they want, LEGACY MATTERS!!! Maybe floyd's content to be Cherry picker #1 AT? Good for him!!

DLH aint ****, has 5 losses(which should be 6 vs Sturm) and hasnt beat anyone other than Mayorga since 2003. THIS FIGHT IS A ****ING FARCE:yep

Floyd said he was retired after the first Hoya fight. That didn't stop Hatton from calling him out. Fact of the matter is, if Floyd turns down this fight, we would be getting DLH/Cotto. Now if Floyd let's this happen, not only does he lose out on a shitload of money, but Cotto now has more bargaining power in a future fight with Lil Floyd, provided that he beat Hoya.

I understand what your saying REG, but my point is:

    1) A fight with Cotto would make floyd a ton of money, not on a level with Oscar I know, but enough to buy his ****ing laffy taffy's with!

    2) Oscar is past hi prime, Cotto is in his, Floyd should be taking on the best there is, and he should worry about his legacy, because its not complete, and fighting Oscar does nothing to cement it either. Cotto, PW, next year Berto, and Floyd can retire happy

peter5 dont get me wrong id love to see cotto vs mayweather.... an yes it is true DLH is past his prime... but i still think DLH has enough left in the tank to beat floyd... which is kinda of why i do want this fight to happen... i want oscar to be the first to beat floyd.. which i think he can do.... an lets face it ... DLH is no push over this will be a challenge to floyd maby even more than cotto.... but after this ill be the first one shouting for Cotto/floyd

I don't disagree with anything you say except that this fight will still make a shitload of money. Floyd got a guarenteed 10 million in their last fight. Expect that number to jump to at least 15 million. Even if this fight only does 1 million buys, Floyd is still looking at a 20 mill payday.

Arum wanted the fight, Cotto wanted the fight, and all we heard was time off. So they did call him out and what are we going to get?

    Like I said DLH = TIME OFF:good He's NO THREAT:nono

I agree with most of this, and I will organize it.

-Berto...is just a prospect. Not yet even a Top10 Welterweight.
-Cintron...is just a fringe contender who beat Mark Suarez.
-Mosley...36 years old and coming off a loss.
-Margarito...not top level. Struggled with Clottey, lost to Santos and Williams.
    -Clottey...perennial contender, exactly.
-Williams...he WOULD be a good opponent for Mayweather.
-Cotto...this is the only fighter that matters. Mayweather-Cotto is THE fight.
