PBF told Oscar to go **** himself after he won the first fight and Oscar still wanted the lions share of the purse for the rematch.
I've heard rumblings that GBP isn't doing all that well financially. They only have one attraction and he fights but twice a year. Plus, it's becoming apparent that none of the top names in the sport are interested in signing with GBP [eg Errol Spence, Mikey Garcia]. Then you have Ole' Fishnets calling out Connor McGregor. I wouldn't be surprised if a Mayweather de la Hoya rematchs happens. The Golden Girl gonna need to buy more of that nose candy. Lol..
The fight was a close majority decision. There was a rematch clause in their contract and Floyd left the sport for 2 years to avoid it, coming back the day after the clause expired. How conveniently you ignore the facts. And Oscar was the A side. Fighting Oscar made Floyd a star.
It wasn't close PBF won that fight either 9-3 or 8-4 at worse. PBF took Oscar's jab away landed the cleaner harder punches made Oscar's aggression ineffective and watched him fade down the stretch on cue. What do you know anyway? You probably scored the fight for Oscar. Yeah give a boxing genius like PBF a second look at you in a rematch and he does worse? You wishful thinking fool, you're bitter and don't even believe what you just wrote. PBF didn't rematch Oscar because Oscar still wanted the bigger share of the purse after losing the fight, Oscar had no leverage PBF was now the star. PBF told Oscar to **** off and rightfully so. PBF will forever own Oscar's ass between the ropes and PBF haters and Oscar are still bitter to this day about it.
So what? PBF and his dad were not even getting along back then. Ask him today who won and he'll be singing a different song.
I don't listen to gossip. I leave that to my girl. Golden Boy only has one attraction? He pretty much has the ONLY attraction/Cash Cow in the Western Hemesphere!! lol Who else rivals Canelo's numbers? GBP also dominates the Southwest U.S. market, especially Texas, SoCal and Los Angeles, and everyone knows that L.A. is the biggest fight town in the world for boxing and Mexicans and MX-Americans are the biggest boxing demographic. GBP has shows every week, multiple times a week. They have popular fighters like Canelo, Linares, Cotto, Francisco Vargas, Lemieux, Matthysse, and hot prospects like JoJo Diaz, DDLH, Machado, and a whole bunch of up and coming prospects. Any promotional company that has a lockdown on California, Arizona, Texas is likely NOT having huge financial issues. Al Haymon on the other hand, he and Schaffer stole the GBP roster and those two goons are having an extremely difficult time selling their fighters. It was very sad to see all the empty seats at the StubHub for the Santa Cruz and Mares double header. But as long as he pays them ridiculous money, the PBC fighters will continue to fight scrubs and not GAF about how many fans they have.
