And then he wonders why so many people hate him? He basically insulted the biggest name in the history of boxing in Ali and then started to get upset when Rome called him on quality of opposition! I don't think that I've ever disliked a fighter more than this jackass!

And another 3K PPVs have been sold. Mayweather is working every outlet. I am surprised he hasn't slapped a bus load of orphans to really drum up the fight. I can see it now.

Mayweather "Orphan slapper" vs the Defender Shane Mosley

Most do think he lost to Norton at least twice.

Yes, he did beat every HW he faced till Holmes and Berbick.

When Mayweather brings up other fighters' controversial losses it strikes me as a bit hypocritical. I wonder how he'd react if someone called him out on his stats given the fact that most think he lost the first Castillo fight. It'd counter his entire argument.

I thnk you guys need to relax. This was actually a good interview in my mind. I obvioulsy don't think Floyd is the greatest. Infact I would have a very hard time putting him in my top 10. Although if you just looked at his body of work from 130-140 you could make an agruement that he beats anyone in and around that weight class ever...but thats another topic for another day. What I liked about this arguement is when Rome asked him if he thought he was the best because of numbers he didn't run back to his numbers he said that it wasn't just numbers and then he wanted Rome to actually back up his point about quality of opposition. Rome couldn't do that cause he doesn't know **** about boxing. But I actually thought he was looking like he was more willing to get into a discussion and Rome backed out.

Thats true I've watched loads of Sugar Ray Robinson interviews and it not one have I even heard him mention his place in boxing history and certainly none of him saying he was the best ever.

and like you said " it's because their actions in their field of play made that statement for them "

Ali started telling everyone he was the greatest around his 12th amateur fight. He said he was better than Joe Louis and Jack Johnson. Even though he admittedlly patterned himself after Sugar Ray Robinson including the way he wore his sweats. I never heard Ali say Im the greatest except for Sugar Ray Robinson. He simply said...I'm the Greatest!!!
